OUR BIGGEST WISH THIS HOLIDAY SEASON IS FOR YOUR SAFETY AND ENJOYMENT. SAFETY AND SECURITY IS NOT SOMETHING WE SHOULD TAKE
FOR GRANTED AND MUST WORK ON EVERY DAY, EVERYWHERE. HERE ARE SOME OF OUR TOP HOLIDAY SAFETY TIPS:
LOCK YOUR CAR to protect it from theft and remove all valuables within. Even if it ’s locked, crooks will seek any temptation out and
may damage your vehicle to retrieve it.
NEVER PUT THE RED FLAG UP ON YOUR MAILBOX to signify mail, do not mail checks or valuables through your curb side mailbox and
remove your mail and packages promptly.
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR RUNNING UNATTENDED for any reason, no matter how secure you feel it is.
SCREEN ALL PHONE CALLS, do not answer unknown numbers and block unwanted numbers. The IRS, social security office, or law
enforcement will not call to threaten you with a warrant or need bail money asap. Do not harass or engage the scammers —simply
hang up and ignore.
SCAMS ARE EVERYWHERE—email, phone, texts. Do NOT fall for the bait, especially the click bait with links. If it seems too good to be
true it always is. Don’t become a victim—if someone online or on the phone encourages you to hand over flnancial account info,
personal data or buy gift cards, hang up and contact police. If you think something is flshy it probably is, and you can al ways call
your local police department to see if they agree or have any advice.
BE VIGILANT OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. If you see something suspicious, potentially dangerous or out of character, call 911 no matter
where you are, to ensure prompt help is summoned.
LIGHT IT UP—keeping a light on in your house and on your property, driving with lights on and ensuring you are visible in the dark
with lights and refiective wear are key safety components for you and those you care about.
