05 17 24 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 05/04/24, 0739 HOURS, LILYDALE RD PD ACCIDENT On Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 0739 hours, Unit #1 was traveling south on Lilydale Road in the 1700 block when the driver looked away from the roadway and at his radio. He did not notfce that the road curved and Unit #1 crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and struck the guardrail with its driver's side front corner, wheel and quarter panel causing the driver's side front tfre to detach from the vehicle thus disabling it. Driver's side curtain airbags were also deployed as a result of the crash. Unit #1 was towed. 05/05/24, 0713 HOURS, HWY 13 MENTAL HEALTH Officer responded to the area of the Mendota Bridge on a report of a person in crisis. Person located and transported to get help. 05/05/24, 2320 HOURS, HWY 62/LEXINGTON AVE TRAFFIC STOP Officer was on routfne patrol of Lexington Avenue near the Mendota Heights Police Department. Officer observed a vehicle exit the police parking lot displaying tabs on the vehicle that were expired nearly two years. Driver was stopped at the intersectfon of Interstate 35E and Wagon Wheel Trail. Officer determined the driver was not safe to drive based on his cognitfve state of mind and was released with a different driver. The officer later submitted a Driver Evaluatfon to the Department of Motor Vehicles. 05/06/24, 0249 HOURS, 8XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY DWI Officer was on routfne patrol of Sibley Memorial Highway. Officer observed a vehicle parked at the entrance of a residentfal facility. The officer turned around to see if the vehicle was stfll there and saw it parked at the 800 block of Sibley Memorial Highway, a different locatfon. The officer stopped the vehicle and saw indicators the driver was intoxicated. Roadside SFSTs were attempted, but the driver would not cooperate. The driver was arrested for 2nd Degree DWI and was booked and held at the Dakota County Jail. 05/06/24, 1249 HOURS, 8XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY HIT & RUN ACCIDENT Officer called to the 800 block of Sibley Memorial Highway for a reported vehicle accident. On scene it was found that an unattended vehicle had been hit and pushed into another unattended vehicle. The suspect had then left the scene. There were no witnesses to the crash and no suspect informatfon. May 3rd—May 16th, 2024 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 05/06/24, 1716 HOURS, 2XXX VICTORIA RD S RUNAWAY Officer received a report of a juvenile that ran away on the 2000 block of Victoria Road S. The juvenile was entered as missing. On 5/7/24 officers were notffied that the juvenile had been located in Inver Grove Heights. Custody was transferred to Mendota Heights. 05/07/24, 0741 HOURS, SOMERSET RD/COLSHIRE LN PD ACCIDENT On 05/07/2024 officer was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersectfon of Somerset Road and Coleshire Lane. On scene I found that the driver of vehicle one had been driving eastbound through an uncontrolled intersectfon on Coleshire Lane while the driver of vehicle number two was driving northbound on Somerset Road through the same uncontrolled intersectfon. The driver of vehicle number two hit the passenger side of vehicle number one. Both vehicles stopped and called 911 for assistance. The airbags went off in vehicle number one, but not in vehicle number two. There were no injuries. Vehicle number one needed to be towed. The driver of vehicle number one went home because she was only a block away from home. The driver of vehicle number two was able to drive away from the scene when released. 05/07/24, 1420 HOURS, 2XXX ACACIA DR PROPERTY DAMAGE Resident in the 2000 block Acacia Dr. discovered that the mailbox in front of her town home had been damaged. The damage is consistent with being struck by a vehicle. There is no video available, it is not known who damaged the mailbox. 05/07/24, 1600 HOURS, 2XXX PATRICIA ST WARRANT Officer observed a male with a warrant on the 2000 block of Patricia Street. Male fled from officer on foot. Officer searched the residence and found signs of animal neglect. Case forwarded to social services. 05/08/24, 0734 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR MENTAL HEALTH Officer responded to the 1300 block of Northland Drive on a report of a person in crisis. Person was transported to the hospital to receive help. 05/08/24, 1238 HOURS, 9XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY COMPLIANCE CHECKS Officer conducted compliance checks in the city of Lilydale on the 900 block of Sibley Memorial Highway. The business sold alcohol to a party who was under 21 years of age. The report will be forwarded to the City Attorney's Office for possible charges. May 3rd—May 16th, 2024 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 05/08/24, 1241 HOURS, 15XX HWY 55 MENTAL HEALTH Officer responded to the 1500 block of Highway 55 on a report of a person in crisis. He was transported by ambulance to receive help. 05/08/24, 1338 HOURS, 7XX N PLAZA DR COMPLIANCE CHECKS Officer conducted a compliance check on the 700 block of North Plaza Drive. The restaurant provided an alcoholic beverage. Officer spoke with the bartender and manager and informed them they sold to a party under 21 years of age and a report will be forwarded to the city for potentfal charges. 05/09/24, 0238 HOURS, 23XX LEXINGTON AVE DWI Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang up where a male on the line said he was intoxicated and pulled over on the 2300 block of Lexington. Officers arrived and located the male. Officers determined the male was intoxicated and that there was significant probable cause for a DWI arrest. Officers placed the male in custody and transported him to jail. 05/09/24, 1145 HOURS, 6XX HWY 62 WELFARE CHECK Officer responded to the 600 block of Highway 62 to check the welfare of a person camping in the woods on the west side of that locatfon. The camp was found but no person was with it. The camping items were collected and entered into the property room for safekeeping untfl an owner can be found. 05/10/24, 0827 HOURS, 9XX WAGON WHEEL TR PD ACCIDENT Officer was called to a constructfon site on the 900 block of Wagon Wheel Trail for a reported vehicle accident. On scene it was found that a forklift had backed into a dump truck. The site boss wanted a report because the involved vehicles were work vehicles. The driver's informatfon was collected, and a report was completed. 05/10/24, 1429 HOURS, 25XX PILOT KNOB RD THREATS Officer took a report of threats of violence from the 2500 block of Pilot Knob Road. A known person made threats over the phone. Report sent to county attorney for charges. May 3rd—May 16th, 2024 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 05/10/24, 1712 HOURS, 18XX DELAWARE AVE MISSING PERSON Officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of Delaware Ave for a report of a missing person. Officer spoke with reportfng party who advised that a juvenile had gone missing from the school and not reported to their appointed driver. Officer was later made aware that the juvenile was sending possibly suicidal text messages. Officers were able to locate the juvenile and determined they were not suicidal. Juvenile was transported home. 05/10/24, 2247 HOURS, 23XX APACHE CT MISSING PERSON Officer took a report of a missing person in the 2300 block of Apache Ct. The male was entered as missing. On 5/11/2024, the male was located in a nearby city and agreed to go back home. 05/11/24, 0145 HOURS, 5XX HIAWATHA AVE DWI Officers were dispatched to the 500 Block of Hiawatha Ave for a report of a suspicious person laying outside of a running vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and found a person on their knees next to a running vehicle with the driver door open. Officers observed signs of impairment and attempted to conduct SFSTs. Driver was arrested for DWI. Driver was booked into the Dakota County Jail. 05/11/24, 2146 HOURS, HWY 62/35E POSSESS STOLEN FIREARM Officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violatfon on east Highway 62 and I-35E. Officer stopped the vehicle and located a firearm in the vehicle. The driver did not have a permit to carry and officers learned the firearm was stolen. The driver was arrested and transported to jail. 05/11/24, 2332 HOURS, HWY 494 POSSESS LIQUOR-UNDER 21 Officer stopped vehicle on westbound Hwy 494 entrance ramp from Pilot Knob Rd. Officer located juvenile in possession of alcohol. Juvenile cited. 05/12/24, 2136 HOURS, 9XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY DOMESTIC Officers were dispatched to the 900 Block of Sibley Memorial Highway for a welfare check where a female was arguing with a male and the female had a DANCO against the male. The female was located inside a local business. Two officers chased the male on foot who eluded officers. Officers questfoned the female and determined a domestfc assault had taken place. Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect. Officers issued a KOPS alert for the suspect. The victfm was transported to an area at her request. May 3rd—May 16th, 2024 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 05/12/24, 2336 HOURS, 35E/HWY 62 DANCO VIOLATION Officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violatfons. Officer learned the adult male driver and female passenger had a DANCO that was actfve. The male was arrested for the DANCO. When the vehicle was being towed, the female refused to exit the vehicle. She was arrested for obstructfon. Both were transported to jail. 05/13/24, 0846 HOURS, 18XX EAGLE RIDGE DR THEFT Officer took a theft report from the 1800 block of Eagle Ridge Drive. Reportfng party stated that their flowerpot and flowers were taken from their yard. No suspects. 05/13/24, 1058 HOURS, 12XX MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD THEFT Officer took a report from the 1200 block of Mendota Heights Road. Reportfng party explained that an unknown person stole items from the inside of the store and left without paying. Case pending investfgatfon. 05/13/24, 1150 HOURS, 25XX PILOT KNOB RD MISSING PERSON Officers called about a man who was living in his vehicle on the 2500 block of Pilot Knob Road who had turned up missing. The reportfng party wanted him listed as a missing person. On 5/15/2024, officer ran a license plate and learned the vehicle owner was listed as the missing person. Officer made contact with the party and he was removed as a missing person. 05/14/24, 0904 HOURS, 7XX N PLAZA DR WARRANT Officers ran a license plate query in the 700 block of North Plaza Drive. The registered owner of the vehicle was found to have an actfve warrant for their arrest. After making contact with the driver, and confirming the warrant, the driver was able to post their bond and be released from the scene. 05/14/24, 1110 HOURS, 18XX EAGLE RIDGE DR DISTURBANCE Resident of a condo on Eagle Ridge Dr. has been having issues with a neighbor. The R/P was taking a picture of the neighbor smoking a cigarette. The neighbor did not like her picture being taken. So a comment was made to the R/P. The R/P believes she is being harassed. May 3rd—May 16th, 2024 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 05/14/24, 2244 HOURS, HWY 13/RIVERSIDE LN DWI Officer was on routfne patrol traveling south on Highway 13 and Riverside Lane. Officer observed a vehicle traveling in front of them speeding. Officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs of impairment with the adult male driver. SFSTs were performed and the driver was arrested and transported to jail. 05/16/24, 0631 HOURS, 25XX WHITFIELD DR AOA Officer responded to the 2500 block of Whitiield Drive at the request of St Anthony Police Department to ask the owner if their car had been stolen. I confirmed it had been stolen from a locatfon in Minneapolis overnight while parked at a relatfve's home. Referred the owner to report the theft to Minneapolis Police Department. 05/16/24, 1032 HOURS, 9XX DOWNING ST DANCO VIOLATION - DRUGS Officer responded to the 900 block of Downing Street on a report of a violatfon of a protectfon order. Subject was found in the area and arrested for the DANCO violatfon and suspected narcotfcs in their possession. May 3rd—May 16th, 2024
