07 07 23 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report June 30th—July 6th, 2023 6/30/23, 0041 HOURS, 14XX NORTHLAND DR AOA Mendota Heights Officers assisted Inver Grove Heights Police in apprehending a suspect who stole a vehicle at gun point in their city. Vehicle was disabled using stop sticks on the interstate. Suspect stopped in Mendota Heights and was not compliant. Officers used a taser to take the suspect into custody without further incident. 6/30/23, 1010 HOURS, 24XX ENTERPRISE DR IDENTITY THEFT Owner of a business on Enterprise Dr. fell victim to identity theft. The occurrence was 2.5 years ago. A report had been filed with the Office of The Inspector General. Owner received a late payment notice on 06-07-2023. Owner was advised to file a police report. No suspects. 6/30/23, 2158 HOURS, 2XXX VICTORIA RD S DISTURBANCE Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Victoria Road for a fight. Multiple juvenile residents were physically fighting, three of which were transported to area hospitals for further care for minor injuries. No charges for any involved. Dakota County Crisis was notified. 7/01/23, 0434 HOURS, MARIE AVE/NATURE WAY WARRANT Officer stopped a biker with no lights on his bike at night near the intersection of Marie and Nature way. The man had warrants, burglary theft tools and narcotic paraphernalia on his person. He reported to be unwell and was taken to the hospital where he was assessed, cleared and taken to jail. 7/01/23, 1146 HOURS, 7XX S PLAZA WAY HIT & RUN Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of South Plaza Way for a report of a hit and run. Officer made contact with the party who remained on scene and identified the suspect driver and vehicle. The officer made contact with the suspect who admitted to leaving the scene of the accident. The officer issued and mailed a citation to the suspect for hit and run. 7/03/23, 0010 HOURS, 35E/WAGON WHEEL TR FLEEING/DWI Officer was doing stationary radar on Interstate 35e. Officer attempted to stop a vehicle speeding and driving recklessly. The vehicle fled from the officer doing speeds over 100 MPH. The vehicle eventually came to a stop. The adult male driver was arrested for DWI refusal, fleeing, and reckless driving and was transported to Dakota County Jail. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 7/03/23, 1003 HOURS, 14XX HWY 13 MENTAL HEALTH Officer responded to the 1400 block of Hwy 13 on a report of a male who appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis. The male was driven to a safe place to get a ride and the report was forwarded to Dakota County Crisis. 7/03/23, 1659 HOURS, 7XX N PLAZA DR SHOPLIFTING Officer responded to the 700 block of North Plaza Drive for a report of a theft. Two male parties went into the store, took two bottles of liquor and left without paying. Officer checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. 7/04/23, 0320 HOURS, HWY 13/SUTCLIFF CI WARRANT Officer was on routine patrol traveling north on the 600 block of Highway 13. Officer observed a vehicle to be speeding and the registered owner to have a warrant out of Ramsey County. Officer stopped the vehicle and the adult male driver was arrested on the warrant and transported to jail. 7/04/23, 0927 HOURS, 23XX LEXINGTON AVE THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE Officer responded to the 2300 block of Lexington Avenue on a report of a theft from motor vehicle. A credit card was stolen and later used at three different locations. Case is under investigation. 7/06/23, 1008 HOURS, 7XX PLAZA W MOTOR VEHICLE TAMPERING Officer took a report of suspicious activity in the 700 block of Plaza Way involving an apple airtag. An Apple Air Tag was placed on a vehicle and was tracking the vehicle owner. She was advised to bring the vehicle to a shop to locate the device. Case pending video surveillance. 7/06/23, 1037 HOURS, 16XX VICTORIA RD PUBLIC ASSIST Officer responded to assist a resident with the safe disposal of a possible old explosive artillery ordnance. The St. Paul Bomb Squad assisted in the safe removal and disposal of the item. 7/06/23, 1737 HOURS, 11XX MEDALLION DR FRAUD Officer took a fraud report from a business on the 1100 block of Medallion. A check was altered and forged. Case under investigation. June 30th—July 6th, 2023
