Res 2023-30 Electronic Crimes Task Force JPACITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 1140.2023-30 AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT "DAKOTA COUNTY ELECTRONIC CRIMES TASK FORCE" WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights desires to have the ability to contact neighboring communities for aid assistance; and WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute requires a resolution to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to have all agreements accurately reflect the work being done and membership; and WIiEREAS, the City recognizes that the advances in technology require a continuing investment in training and resources; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide the highest level of service to its citizens and all victims of crime; and WHEREAS, the City understands that the ability to investigate these cases continues to exceed the capacity of the police department(s) individual investigative divisions; and WHEREAS, the City understands the responsibilities vested in them to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights have duly considered this matter and wish to enter into an agreement that would expand the resources available to them and our neighbors to solve crimes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights hereby formally authorizes its continued participation in a Joint Powers Agreement for the Dakota County Electronic Crimes Task Force.
