05 19 23 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report May 12th—May 18th, 2023 5/12/23, 1029 HOURS, 9XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY SHOPLIFTING Officer was dispatched to a theŌ of merchandise that had just occurred from a convenience store in the 900 Block of Sibley Memorial Hwy. Suspect vehicle was not located. Store owner reported suspects concealed items on their person. Evidence available; invesƟgaƟon pending. 5/12/23, 1733 HOURS, 9XX STRATFORD RD PROPERTY DAMAGE Officers dispatched to property damage accident involving a USPS vehicle on the 900 block of Straƞord. Officers arrived on scene and took report. Status: Report. 5/13/23, 1749 HOURS, 12XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY TS/DANCO VIOLATION Officer was on rouƟne patrol on the 1200 block of Highway 13. Traveling the same direcƟon in front of the Officer was a vehicle with expired registraƟon. Officer stopped the vehicle and idenƟﬁed the adult male driver and adult female passenger. Officer learned there was an acƟve DANCO in place between the two. The male was arrested and transported to jail. 5/13/23, 17XX HOURS, 17XX OVERLOOK LN FRAUD Officer dispatched to a fraud at 1700 block of Overlook Lane. Officer made contact with the adult female vicƟm who was scammed out of $500 via Facebook messenger/Venmo. Report made. 5/13/23, 2200 HOURS, 7XX PONDHAVEN LN DOMESTIC ASSAULT Officers received a report of a domesƟc assault on the 700 block of Pondhaven Lane. Upon Officers arrival, they were met by an adult male vicƟm who stated he was assaulted by their adult male son. Officers arrested the son and he was transported to jail. 5/14/23, 0256 HOURS, PILOT KNOB/NORTHLAND DR CRASH Officer found signs of a crash at the intersecƟon of Pilot Knob road and Northland Drive. Officer found license plate near scene of crash. Officers searched area and did not locate vehicle. Officers aƩempted to contact the owner. Officer noƟﬁed public works and wrote report. 5/14/23, 1121 HOURS, 9XX CHERI LN THEFT FROM AUTO Officer dispatched to theŌ of electronics from a vehicle in the 900 block of Cheri Lane. Officers arrived and controlled the scene. The juvenile vicƟm wanted to press charges on juvenile suspect for assault. Officers determined juvenile suspect was suicidal. Juvenile suspect transported to area hospital for evaluaƟon. Officers requesƟng formal charges for 5th degree assault. 5/14/23, 2339 HOURS, HWY 62/LEXINGTON AVE S TS/DANCO VIOLATION Officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violaƟon. Officer learned a DANCO violaƟon was in progress. Officer arrested the adult male driver and transported him to jail. 5/15/23, 1324 HOURS, 9XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY THEFT TheŌ of cash from the 900 Block in Sibley Memorial Hwy. Made contact with staff who provided security footage and evidence of employee theŌ. Case pending contact with suspect. 5/15/23, 1746 HOURS, 18XX DELAWARE AVE ASSAULT Officers dispatched to past acƟon assault report on the 1800 block of Delaware Ave. Officers called RP and took iniƟal report. Forward to West St. Paul school resource officer. 5/16/23, 0221 HOURS, HWY 13/WACTHLER AVE FLEEING Officer was conducƟng targeted patrol for speed at the intersecƟon of Highway 13 and Wachtler Avenue. A vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed ﬂed from the officer. The Officer pursued the vehicle for a short distance and terminated the pursuit due to high speeds. 5/16/23, 0518 HOURS, 1800 DELAWARE AVE PI ACCIDENT Officers dispatched to injury crash on the 1800 block of Delaware Ave. Officers arrived and took driver’s informaƟon. One adult male was transported to area hospital for non‐life threatening injuries. Officers completed state accident report. 5/17/23, 0919 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR THEFT Guest staying at a hotel on Northland Dr. returned to the room and discovered that her purse was missing. Staff informed the vicƟm that there are no cameras near the guest’s room. Staff was no longer able to tell who or when someone accessed the room from that date. There are no known suspects. Officer made contact with the reporƟng party and gathered informaƟon. Forward to invesƟgaƟons. 5/18/23, 0900 HOURS, 9XX CHIPPEWA AVE THEFT BY SWINDLE Resident on Chippewa Ave fell vicƟm to an online scam. VicƟm clicked a web conversaƟon, provided bank account informaƟon. VicƟm lost $800. No known suspects. Case Status: InacƟve 5/18/23, 1532 HOURS, 7XX LINDEN ST HARRASSMENT Officer spoke with an individual at the police department in regards to harassment. Officer obtained informaƟon and spoke with the individual on how to handle the situaƟon. Report wriƩen 5/18/23, 1548 HOURS, 11XX CENTRE POINTE DR THEFT Business on Centre Pointe Dr was vicƟm of a theŌ. A scheduled delivery of giŌ cards showed up and the box was empty.
