01 06 23 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report December 30—January 5th, 2023 12/31/22, 0126 HOURS, 35E/SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY TRAFFIC STOP/DUI Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hwy 35E. Officer determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. Driver was arrested. Driver conducted a breath test and was found to be under the legal limit. Driver was released. 12/31/22, 0418 HOURS, 35E/HWY 62 DWI Officers were dispatched on a 911 driving complaint for a vehicle that ran a red light near the intersection of Sibley Memorial Highway and Interstate 35E. The vehicle was reported to have driven the wrong way on Interstate 35E. The vehicle continued to drive the wrong way on Lexington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped on Interstate 35E past Lone Oak road. The driver was arrested for DUI, a search warrant was completed, and the driver was transported to Dakota County Jail on a book and release. 12/31/22, 2047 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR MENTAL HEALTH Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Northland Drive for a person experiencing a crisis. Officers made contact with an adult female who made suicidal comments, had consumed an excess of alcohol, and took prescription pills that were not to be taken with alcohol. The officer placed a transport hold on the female and she was transported to an area hospital for further care. Dakota County Crisis was contacted and advised. 01/01/23, 0059 HOURS, OAK ST/MARKET ST FOUND DOG Officers responded to a found dog call. An owner could not be located and the dog was impounded at the South St. Paul Animal Hospital. Later in the night the owner called in and was informed where their dog was. 01/01/23, 1608 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR DWI Officers were dispatched to a welfare check on the 1300 block of Northland Drive for an intoxicated male out in the cold. Officers located the male and he was sent to the hospital for medical treatment. The male was determined to be the driver of a nearby crashed vehicle. A blood draw search warrant was completed. This case is active pending lab results. 01/03/23, 1243 HOURS, 25XX CONCORD WAY IDENTITY THEFT Officer made contact with a victim who had received notification from a collection agency, on behalf of AT&T, who was attempting to collect on a debt totaling $1,100 that was incurred in her name between January 13th, 2021 and April 13th, 2021. She said the account established was in her name and used her email address. No suspects. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report December 30—January 5th, 2023 01/03/23, 1900 HOURS, 1XXX DODD RD JUVENILE RUNAWAY Officers wrote a report on a juvenile who left their home and did not return. A short while later, the juvenile was located in St Paul and returned home. 01/03/23, 2003 HOURS, 1XX STONEBRIDGE RD DISTURBANCE Officer was dispatched to a disturbance that occurred on the 100 block of Stonebridge Road regarding a verbal altercation that took place between two people. Pending contact with the other involved party. 01/04/23, 0735 HOURS, 6XX 2ND AVE THEFT Officer took a theft report from the 600 block of 2nd Ave. Two vehicles parked in the driveway were tampered with and items were stolen from the inside. Case pending investigation. 01/04/23, 1300 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR THEFT Guest at a hotel on the 1300 block of Northland Dr. returned to the hotel and discovered that the catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle. The actual date of the theft is unknown. No suspects. 01/04/23, 1939 HOURS, 6XX 2ND AVE THEFT Officer took a theft report from the 600 block of 2nd Ave. A vehicle was gone through overnight and items were stolen. No suspects. 01/04/23, 2341 HOURS, DELAWARE AVE/COPPERFIELD DR DWI Officer attempted to stop a truck for speeding in a snow storm on Delaware Ave. The vehicle continued to their driveway on the 2400 block of Haverton Road. Officer made contact with the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was put through roadside sobriety tests and arrested for DWI. The driver was ultimately charged with 4th degree DWI and booked into Dakota County Jail. 01/05/23, 0500 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR AOA Officer was dispatched to assist another agency. Officer was advised of a individual on the 1300 block of Northland Drive that had violated an OFP. Officer made contact with that party and arrested them. Officer coordinated transfer of arrested party to other agency. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report December 30—January 5th, 2023 01/05/23, 0622 HOURS, 9XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY THEFT Business on the 900 block of Sibley Memorial Hwy was a victim of a theft. An adult, white male arrived in a SUV. Male entered the store, then the restroom, walked out and stole the businesses snow blower. The theft, including the suspect himself, and the vehicle used were captured on store video. Under investigation. 01/05/23, 1127 HOURS, 2XXX VICTORIA RD ASSAULT Officer was dispatched to a fight in progress at a residence on the 2000 block of Victoria Rd. The fight was between two juveniles. They were separated when officers arrived. One complained of a head injury, the other was not injured. Staff did not witness the start of the physical altercation but did see them physically fighting. Report forwarded to the Dakota County Juvenile Attorney for charging. 01/05/23, 2038 HOURS, 2XXX DODD RD WARRANT Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Dodd Road for a person disturbing the peace. Officer made contact with the reporting person who wanted someone out of their vehicle. The person exited the vehicle and had two felony warrants and two misdemeanor warrants out of Hennepin County. The person was arrested and transported to Dakota County Jail.
