07 15 22 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report July 8th - July 14th, 2022 07/08/2022, 1350 HOURS, 1XXX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY BURGLARY Officer was dispatched to a theft call on the 1100 block of Sibley Memorial Hwy. The reporting party advised that a resident had packages taken from the mail area. Officer gathered information and security footage. No suspects at this time. 07/08/2022, 1452 HOURS, 1XXX CHIPPEWA AVE IDENTITY THEFT A resident on the 1000 block of Chippewa Avenue reported being the victim of identity theft. Officer responded to the location to interview the victim. Multiple accounts were opened with the victims information. This case will be forwarded to investigations for follow up. A suspect has been identified. 07/08/2022, 1519 HOURS, 5XX MENDOTA RD THEFT Complainant reported the catalytic converter was stolen off of her vehicle while it was parked on the 500 block of Mendota Road. The theft occurred while she was at work. There are no suspects. 07/08/2022, 1625 HOURS, 13XX MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD THEFT Officers were dispatched to a catalytic converter theft on the 1300 block of Mendota Heights Road. Officer made contact with the adult male victim. There is no suspect information. 07/09/2022, 0407 HOURS, 35E/HWY 13 WARRANT Officer conducted a traffic stop at I -35 and Highway 13. The adult female driver had a warrant out of Ramsey County. Adult female driver was arrested and transported to Dakota County Jail. 07/09/2022, 1814 HOURS, 13XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY DOG BITE Officers were dispatched to a report of a medical. A child was bitten by a dog during Mendota Days. The child was taken to the hospital. Officers made contact with the dog owner and they were going to supply veterinary records. 07/09/2022, 2126 HOURS, LEXINGTON AVE/MEMORIAL HEIGHTS RD DAC-IPS Officer was traveling westbound on Mendota Heights Road and observed a vehicle traveling with equipment violations. Officer stopped the vehicle and learned the male driver's status was Canceled - IPS. The driver was arrested and transported to jail. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report July 8th - July 14th, 2022 7/10/2022, 0300 HOURS, 35E/WAGON WHEEL TR WARRANT Officer was traveling southbound I-35E at Wagon Wheel Trail and observed a vehicle traveling the same direction with an equipment violation. Officer identified the adult male driver who had warrants out of Scott County for his arrest. The male was arrested and transported to Dakota County Jail. 7/10/2022, 2102 HOURS, 1XXX DOWNING ST THEFT Officer received a report of a theft of a signs on the 1000 block of Downing Street. Officer spoke with both victims who stated a sign was stolen from his yard. It is unknown who took the signs. There is no video/footage of the incident. 7/11/2022, 1210 HOURS, 12XX DODD RD THEFT Officer received a report of outgoing mail that was stolen from the 1200 block of Dodd Road. No suspects or evidence. Crime/loss prevention were discussed and Identity Theft Resources provided. 7/11/2022, 1601 HOURS, 1X DORSET RD THEFT Officer was dispatched to a report of a theft on Dorset Road. Victim stated that her catalytic converter was stolen. There are no suspects. 7/11/2022, 1711 HOURS, 7XX WENTWORTH AVE DISPUTE Officer was dispatched a phone call for a possible assault that occurred on the 700 block of Wentworth the day before. The reporting party did not want to move forward with charges and just wanted it documented. The reporting party followed up with the officer a week later asking for charges because the other party did not apologize. 7/11/2022, 2157 HOURS, 35E/HWY 62 FLEE Officer observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled and officers pursued for a short time until traffic became too heavy and conditions were no longer safe. The vehicle fled into St. Paul. DCC was instructed to notify St. Paul and Minneapolis. The suspect has been identified and the case has been forwarded for charging/warrant consideration. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report July 8th - July 14th, 2022 7/12/2022, 0620 HOURS, HWY 62/LEXINGTON AVE HIT & RUN Officer was dispatched to a past action hit and run accident that occurred at the intersection of Lexington Ave and Hwy 62. The reporting party advised that she was rear ended while stopped at a red light. She stated that the vehicle that struck her then drove off. A suspect was identified. Under investigation. 7/12/2022, 0800 HOURS, HUBER DR/MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD PI ACCIDENT Officer was dispatched to the area of Mendota Heights Road and Huber Drive for a reported vehicle vs. bicycle accident with possible injuries. The bicycle rider told us that he had been traveling westbound on Mendota Heights Road and actively crossing Huber Drive when the other involved party driving a sedan, suddenly turned left onto Huber Drive from eastbound Mendota Heights Road. The bicyclist didn't have time to stop so he hit the passenger side door of the car and fell down. The driver of the car confirmed the same story. He said that just before his turn onto Huber Drive, the sun had been right in his eyes and he didn't see the bike or rider. The bicyclist sustained minor injuries. 7/12/2022, 1353 HOURS, 7XX S PLAZA DR DWI Officer was dispatched to a welfare check on the 700 block of South Plaza Way. The reporting party advised that there was a vehicle stopped in the drive-thru lane that had been there for several minutes. Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the driver. Officer conducted SFST's on driver and found the driver to be under the influence. Officer placed the driver under arrest. The driver's health became a concern so medics transported the driver to the hospital. Officer completed a search warrant. Blood draw was conducted on the driver. Officer waiting blood test results. 7/14/2022, 0959 HOURS, 12XX DODD RD THEFT Officer was dispatched to location on a report of mail theft. Victim reported checks had been stolen out of their mailbox. No suspects.
