Water conservation measures continue
Odd/even outdoor watering schedule urged
As of this time, the Saint Paul Regional Water Services is continuing in the voluntary
odd/even water conservation stage. Depending on river volumes, the next higher level
would be mandatory odd-even watering. If the drought situation worsens, additional
measures would be added. For more information and water-saving tips,
visit stpaul.gov/water. Please do your part to reduce your use of water!
Road construction updates
Dakota County began construction on Delaware Avenue and Lexington Avenue on
Wednesday, August 11. The project on Delaware Avenue will be adjusting manholes north
of Marie Avenue and improvements to the intersection of Salem Church Road in Sunfish
Lake. The work on Lexington Avenue includes adjusting manholes in conjunction with a mill
& overlay of the pavement. This work is expected to last approximately 21 days. The
roadways will remain open to traffic during construction but certain work may require a
flagger to assist in directing traffic. Please use caution when driving through the
construction area.
Xcel Energy has completed a gas line project on Dodd Road just north of Highway 62. Xcel
will be paving the project on Friday, August 13, and plans to open the roadway at 5 a.m. on
Saturday, August 14. Xcel will need to close the section again for a half day on Monday,
August 16, to complete restoration work.
Mendota Heights is currently working on watermain replacement on London Road, Downing
Street, and Winston Court. Once the watermain on these streets are complete, the
contractor will begin watermain replacement and storm sewer construction on Brompton
Place. Following the utility installations, the contractor will be replacing segments of curb
and preparing the road for paving. This project is expected to last until early October.

Creating a community of support
The Northern Dakota County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon (NDC BTYR) organization held a
proclamation ceremony on August 12 at the VFW in Mendota. In 2019, the Cities of
Mendota Heights, Mendota and Lilydale merged with the West St. Paul Beyond the Yellow
Ribbon to become the Northern Dakota County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, receiving official
recognition from the State of Minnesota effective August 31, 2020. The organization
supports active-duty and veteran military personnel and their families. To learn how you can
volunteer or to seek assistance and support, call the Helpline at 651-259-2614 or
