04 23 21 JTF 1 ARSON — 6XX MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD 04/17/21, 0048 HOURS Officers were dispatched to a report of a fire in a parking lot on the 600 block of Mendota Heights Road. Fire was extinguished and it was determined a portable toilet and a recycling bin were lit on fire and destroyed. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY — 7XX MAIN ST 04/17/21, 1108 HOURS Officer was called to location on a damage to property report. Officer met with the store owner who showed evidence of an attempted burglary that resulted in pry-mark damage to the storefront door. No suspects at this time. DISTURBING THE PEACE — 494/PILOT KNOB RD 04/17/21, 2336 HOURS Officers were dispatched to I-494 and Pilot Knob Road on a report of a man with a gun and shots fired. The 911 caller reported hearing what sounded like gunshots and then observed two vehicles stopped on the exit ramp and one of the occupants was holding what appeared to be a gun. Officers arrived on scene and conducted a high-risk traffic stop on all occupants of the vehicles. Once the scene was secured, officers determined upon investigation that the firearm was an airsoft BB gun. All occupants are relatives of each other and were pulled over because one of the adult relatives was drunk and being belligerent. All parties were released from the scene with no criminal charges. RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE — 7XX S PLAZA WAY 04/18/21, 1129 HOURS Officer ran a license plate of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle came back as stolen. Officers located two parties believed to be involved with the vehicle. One was detained. After investigation, this party was arrested and transported to Dakota County Jail. THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE — 23XX LEXINGTON AVE 04/18/21, 1359 HOURS Officer took a report of theft from motor vehicle near the 2300 block of Lexington Ave. A vehicle parked in the underground parking garage was broken into and items were taken. Case pending surveillance footage from parking garage. DRUGS — 2XXX PILOT KNOB RD 04/19/21, 0245 HOURS Officer located a vehicle parked after hours in a park. Upon contact with the male occupant, officer detected an overwhelming odor of raw marijuana. The male occupant handed the officer a backpack in which marijuana was located. In the backpack was another controlled substance. A vehicle search was conducted and nothing else was located. The male was released and informed he may receive charges in the mail. 04.16.21—04.22.21 2 DOMESTIC ASSAULT — 7XX DECORAH LN 04/19/21, 1551 HOURS Officer was dispatched to a harassment call. The reporting party advised that his mother's boyfriend sent him threatening text messages and that he is fearful that the suspect will act on the message. Officer gathered more information from the reporting party. Officer contacted the suspect, who advised that he did send the threating text messages. Officer gathered information from the suspect. IGHPD arrested the suspect. MHPD transported suspect to the Dakota County Jail. DOMESTIC ASSAULT — LEXINGTON AVE/DAKOTA DR 04/19/21, 2243 HOURS Officer was advised by IGHPD that an assault occurred on the 1000 block of Dakota Dr. earlier that day. Officer contacted the reporting party who advised that her boyfriend physically assaulted her. She stated that he grabbed at her arm and then grabbed her neck. Officer then contacted the suspect who denied being in Mendota Heights and denied being involved in an assault with his girlfriend. In speaking with both parties officers are unable to identity a primary aggressor. THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE — 14XX DODD RD 04/21/21, 1014 HOURS Victim who lives at location reported their vehicle had been entered while it was parked unlocked in the driveway. The garage door remote is the only item missing. Items were also found in the vehicle belonging to a neighbor and those items were returned. No suspects. WELFARE CHECK — 2XX STONEBRIDGE LN 04/21/21, 2046 HOURS Reporting party called police stating their daughter texted them saying she had been in an accident. The parents were unable to reach her after that. Police pinged the phone and sent an attempt to locate the party. Ramsey County responded and stated she had been arrested following an accident with injuries and was currently in jail. Parents were updated. 04.16.21—04.22.21
