RECYCLING
No Spring Clean-Up event this year
The City will not be offering a clean-up event for residents this spring. With this in mind,
below are tips for residents on how to conduct your own spring cleaning in an
environmentally-friendly way:
Use the Dakota County's Recycling Guide to search by the item you would like to
dispose of. The Recycling Guide will help you find resources to sell, donate, or throw
away an item.
Take advantage of free Dakota County Fix-It Clinics to repair, rather than throw away,
items.
Use The Recycling Zone in Eagan to dispose of items such as household chemicals
and hazardous waste, electronics, small household appliances, and recyclables.
Many items are accepted for free. They also accept TVs and monitors for a $10
recycling fee, and tires vary by size starting at $5.
Recycle confidential papers for free at the Paper Shred event on April 10.
Save the date for a Curbside Appliance Pickup event on May 3. Reservations for this
event will open in April.
Save the date for a free Tire Collection event to take place on July 11.
Call your household waste management provider if you have a specific/large trash
item that you would like to dispose of.
March Food Campaign
Neighbors, Inc.'s March FoodShare Campaign will run from March 1 through April 11 this
year. Some requested items are: soup, canned fruit, canned meat and canned vegetables.
Items may be conveniently donated in the collection barrel at City Hall during business
hours, and monetary donations are accepted at www.neighborsmn.org.
Food shelves from across the state engage in the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign
friendly competition to see who can raise the most pounds of food and/or monetary
donations. Donations can go even further in March thanks to additional grant money
allocated based on competition ranking. The March Campaign helps stock food shelves
statewide.
