PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION
MINUTES, FEBRUARY 9� 1988
The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Parks
Commission was held on Tuesday, February 9, at 7:30 P.M., in
the City Council Chambers, 750 South Plaza Drive. The
following members were present: Vice -Chair Lachenmayer,
Commissioners Damberg and Katz. Also present was new member
John Huber. Councilmember Cummins and City Administrator
Frazell were also present for the discussion.

Councilmember Cummins reviewed the cost

tables and drawings of the Mendota Heights

Recreation area (formerly known as

City Administrator Frazell reported that
maintaining a skating pond is expensive
and should be evaluated carefully.
Questions remains whether there are enough
hockey rinks in the southeast for future.
This need not be part of the bond issue
but could come out of parks fund in the
future.

The Commission discussed options for
INTERSECTION
tunnelling or an overpass per memo.
Decision is to investigate crossing signal
options with Mn/DOT.
BRIDGEVIEW
A $42,000 cash contribution will be made
SHORES
by the developer Marvin Anderson
Construction Company, to the Park
Development Fund in lieu of land donation.
Motion "to endorse Marvin Anderson's
proposal plan of Bridgeview Shores".
Seconded and passed.
T-BALL
Commissioner Owens was absent but
Administrator Frazell reported that Mend -
Eagan will run the T-ball program this
summer, probably in the evening.
SUMMER REC
Administrator Frazell will check with
PROGRAM
District 197 Community Education for
someone to run the summer Art in the Parks
program.
Discussion of band shell and other
amenities.
ADJOURN
There being no further business to
discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45
P.M.
