PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
MINUTES, OCTOBER 14, 1986
The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Park and
Recreation Commission was held on Tuesday, October 14, 1986, in
the City Hall Council Chambers.
Members present: Chairman Stein, Doffing, Knittig, and
Leffert. Absent and excused: Schneeman and Damberg. Resigned:
Singer. Also present: Recreation Director Selander, Maintenance
Supervisor Blum, City Administrator Frazell, and Dick Putnam from
Tandem Corporation.
KING/COPPERFIELD Mr. Dick Putnam of the Tandem Corporation, made
PROPERTY a presentation concerning Phase II of the
Copperfield/King property and the park
dedication recommendation for this property.
After viewing the slide presentation and much
discussion, it was decided to refer this matter
to staff and our consultant, Barton-Aschman for
their consideration. It was suggested that this
item be included in our agenda for next month.
RECREATION Recreation Director Selander gave the members an
REPORT update on the recreation program. Hiring of ice
rink attendants and scheduling of ice time were
discussed. It was suggested that an ad be
placed in the City's newsletter to secure
applicants for ice rink attendants.
Administrator Frazell is to see that this ad is
placed in the newsletter.
PARK REPORT Terry Blum, park maintenance supervisor, gave a
report on the condition of City parks and
ball fields. He reported on the fertilization
of the ball fields and painting of the hockey
rink fences.
SIBLEY H.S. Chairman Stein gave the commission an update and
PARK STUDY review of the Henry Sibley Park Study.
RESIGNATION Chairman Stein announced that Commissioner Al
Singer had resigned, creating a vacancy on the
Park and Recreation Commission. Chairman Stein
asked that any recommendations for filling the
vacancy be mentioned to him and he would forward
the recommendation to the City Council.

HALLEY LAND Chairman Stein led a discussion and update of the
CORP. Halley Land Corporation proposal for park
dedication for their recent plat of Park Place on
the Wachtler property.
ADJOURN There being no further business to come before the
Commission, the meeting was adjourned.
NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 11,
1986.
