Approval of Minutes -- September 26, 1973. Absent Howe -- Item C7, "objections" to "objectives" Item 4a, "loy" to "Ivy" Motion passed unanimously to approve as corrected B. Committee Reports 1. Park development a. Rogers Lake change order -- Council approval postponed to first November meeting. b. Contractor goal is to get tennis asphalt surfacing on this season. Consternation expressed at lack of communication between contractor - Starr - Johnson - and Commission members. c. Marie Avenue Pond Review -- no further comments received on it. 2. Winter Recreation a. Recreation supervisor activities -- Dewey Selander introduced to group -- outline of activities, including maintenance and supervision of hockey rinks and expectations of rink attendants discussed. -- question of a "Tot Rink" or portion of a rink for the 8 and under age group discussed. Selander to look into it. 3. Land Acquisition -- acquisition of the Allstrem/MCLoud property still pending due to temporary impasse in negotiations. 4. Trail System a. New title for group -- "Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee on Trails." b. Concept of and authorization to form a trails committee as embodied in the Statement of Policy and Procedure moved by Minutes -2- October 24, 1973 Stefani, seconded by Finn. Approved unanimously. 5. Budget a. Johnson went over budget indicating that 1973 is pretty close to estimates. b. 1974 budget -- totals include $3,000 for summer recreation, i.e. operation of a swimming beach at Rogers Lake. 6. Park Names a. North Park, named Ivy Hills Park b. Interstate, named Valley Park C. Marie Avenue, named Marie Park C. New Business 1. Motorized vehicle postings -- locations of signs and enforcement difficulties discussed. 2. Mendakota Country Club -- as a result of lake lowering negotiations, the Village will receive 12 acres around waterways if the land use changes. D. Next Meeting -- November 28, 1973, 8:00 P.M.
