a. Starr requested to do as much as possible within
original plans to plant some evergreens in
addition to willows as buffer.
C. Land Acquisition
-- Stefani handed out status report.
-- Kopp/Gearman donation -- discussion was followed by
Stefani motion:
Whereas Marie Avenue Park may not be large enough to contain
additional waters from this development; whereas water
containment will be within the development in two areas; whereas
the proposed land donation has no park use value; whereas the
Park Commission Minutes -2- July 19, 1973
proposed development does have aesthetic value, the
Park Commission therefore supports the concept of
this property as utility and open space. Further,
the Park Commission urges a monetary donation to the
Special Park Fund.
Seconded by Finn. Motion passed.
-- Burow Letter -- Stefani authorized to send letter
stating the Park Commission has no use or plans for
Burow's property.
D. Winter Recreation.
-- Einn reported that Mend -Eagan Auxiliary could find a
person to schedule hockey rinks, but that such a
person should be paid.
-- Johnson instructed to recruit scheduler and supervisor
of rink attendants. Moved by Howe. Meierotto seconded.

skiing be included in winter recreational activities.
