Recreation
-- Sclaure
reported
that
there
are 94
youngsters and
6
women
registered
in
figure
skating
classes.
-- Suggestion made that there could be twice as much
ice time For hockey practice if each team would use
only a half of the rink. Sclaure will discuss with
coaches.
Franzmeier related a minor problem in policing rinks. ,
On two occasions, youths interfered with flooding
activities.
C. Land Acquisition
-- Council approved purchase of Interstate Parcel #1.
-- North Park Parcel -- No further progress. mayor Huber
is handling.
-- Wachtler Parcels 13 and 14 -- meierotto and Starr
revisited area. Recommendation made to acquire in
order to ggt access to the bluff on the east side
of valley, thus providing an improved trail access
as well as an overlook capability.
Decision postponed until February meeting.
Friendly Hi11s Land
Stefani reported he appeared before the Planning
Commission at its last meeting. The purpose
was to emphasize the Park Commission's policies and
views as related to the Rauenhorst�Dayton�Lilly
development. Planning Commission will study our
report. A joint meeting may follow.

E. 1973 Development
Progress
Topographical
surveys
will
be
completed
by
end
of January.
F. Rogers Lake
-- The chairman reported he had forwarded a letter
to the Village Council. This letter restated the
Park Commission's views relative to the lowering
of Rogers Lake. It also urged the Council to
consider Park plans for ponding areas downstream
from Rogers Lake.
-- Jim Losleben's memo of December 7, 1972 discussed.
Chairman will include the memo in a future meeting
in order to consider the timely implementation
of action ❑n items spelled out in the memo.
