1982-08-10 Parks and Rec Comm MinutesCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES, AUGUST 10, 1982 The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Park and Recreation Commission was called to order at 7:30 P.M. The following members were present: McMonigal, Literski, Stein, Doffing, Williams. Bayless was excused. Schneeman was unexcused. APPROVAL OF Minutes of the May llth and June 13th meeting were MINUTES approved as submitted. MAINTENANCE Jim Stein reported that several players have complained REPORT that footprints were being left in the asphalt. It was also noted that the Marie Court still had low spots causing water pools after rains. Rudy Literski will have the contractor out to look at the Marie Court and also check on the courts at Friendly Hills. TRAILS Barb Schmidt of the Dakota County Parks Department has COMMITTEE been contacted regarding the County's Trail Plan, Bob Doffing will contact the trails committee to schedule a meeting in the next two weeks. PARKS ORD- Jim Stein is going to review the Ordinances for possible INANCE REVIEW updating. MARIE AVE. There is a good deal of concern regarding the amount of PROJECT fill near, around, and on the hockey boards at Marie Park, COUNCIL Jim Stein reported on the Council meeting. MEETING MISCELLANEOUS It was moved by Bob Doffing, seconded by Dorothy McMonigal that the September meeting be moved from September 14th to September 21st, BUDGET McMonigal moved, seconded by Williams that the beach ACTIONS at Rogers Lake Park be permanently closed as it is not used and is not a suitable beach. It was further moved that these funds be used to establish two basketball courts, one at Rogers Lake and one at Ivv Falls. Motion passed unanimously. It was also moved that due to the I-35E project, that the parking lot not be moved, but that it be eliminated. It was moved by Doffing, seconded by Williams, that we delegate further budget discussions to Tom Bayless. ADJOURN The meeting adjourned at 8:35 P.M. Submitted by Bob Doffing Secretary
