1981-03-24 Parks and Rec Comm MinutesCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES March 24, 1981 1. Call to order by Chairman Bayless. Members present: McMonigal, Stein, Gustafson, Williams, Bayless, Abraham, Selander and Schneeman. Also present was Councilwoman Liz Witt, 2. Minutes of the February 24, 1981 meeting were approved. 3. City Administrator Johnson gave a brief summary of the City Council's concensus of the Bream Lakeridge PUD. 4. Councilwoman Witt presented ideas of the Council on the proposed new Fire Station and two ballfields that the Council has informally approved. After some discussion, Gustafson moved to recommend to the City Council acceptance of Bream's PUD preliminary acceptance plan for March 12 1981 wherein Bream would convey approximately seven acres in the northeast corner of his proper That would be deemed large enough to construct two adult ballfields and to accept Mr. Bream's offer to do rough grading of the entire site including p; Furthermore, the City Council would appropriate from Park Funds for the completion and construction of those two ballfields in accordance with the specifications developed by Public Works Director Jim Danielson and Dewey Selander. Voting: all. aves. nnnrnvad. 5. General discussion of the Friendly Hills ballfield. Public Works Director Danielson will have the newly sized bald ready for use by May 85 1981. 6. General discussion of physical conditions existing in the parks. A tentative plan of "Park Clean-up" was planned for Saturday, May 8th. Mary Jean Schneeman is to coordinate this event with the help of all the commission members. 7. Dewey Selander gave a summary of the 1981 summer park program available at the parks and there was general discussion on this. A recommendation was made by Tom Bayless that Dewey Selander make a list of the programs and the number of participants, which would be presented to the commission. A motion was made by McMonigal that a representative of the Park Commission should attend the City Council meetings on a rotating basis. Seconded and so moved.
