Resources Grants were reviewed by our Parks Commission.. .
One ;;•rant dealt with playground equipment, park pavillions (with
toilet facilities) and utilities extension to the parks. The second
grant was for the Lexington -Wagon 'idheel Trail proposal in Mendota
Heights. The third application was for asphalt trails on present
wood chip trails, extension of existing trails and wood pedestrian
bridges.
2, Charles Marschink� CE1'A landscape gardener,presented landscaping plans
for Friendly Hills Park (S521),'Ivy Falis Park (9181) and Wentworth
Park (365). He stressed minimum care plantings, transplanting shrubs
and trees from other parks, and also advised that the prices did not
include labor. Mjills and Lundeen will contact neighbor associations
in the park vicinities to see if they will help with the plantings.
It was recommended that Chuck continue with his plans for the remaining
parks and money for the landscaping would efffrr come from the Park
Budget or, if not available there, from the Special Park Fund.
3. Witt reported that the Planning Comr.!ission Hearing on the 35F Plat
resulted in tr,e city acquiring 11.5 acres of landwhich will be added
to Valley Park.
