CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
Whereas, the Parks and Recreation Commission has completed a
major study of recreation facilities needs in the
community; and
Whereas, the study revealed as highest needs a
bicycle/pedestrian trail system, a community
athletic complex, and various neighborhood park
improvements; and
Whereas, it has been determined that the approximate cost to

Whereas, securing such level of funding will require going to
the voters of the community with a referendum
authorizing issuance of general debt obligations.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mendota Heights Parks
and Recreation Commission, that the Commission hereby
requests that the Mendota Heights City Council call for a
referendum to be held on Tuesday, April 21st, 1987, for the
purpose of submitting to the voters the question of whether
the City should issue up to $1,860,000 of general
obligation bonds for the purpose of carrying out the
described parks acquisition and development program.
