Become a Parks Celebration
event sponsor
The City is seeking sponsors for the annual Parks
Celebration; sponsorships are a wonderful way to connect
with the local community. Sponsors have the opportunity to
host a community movie night kickoff on June 5, host a
booth at the Parks Celebration event June 6, or simply
make a donation to support this family-fun event. Donations
cover event expenses such as bounce houses, face
painting, a petting zoo, and more. Please review the sponsorship kit for complete details.
The sponsorship deadline is May 1. Thank you for your consideration!

Protect surface waters by properly picking up pet
waste
In all seasons, remember that not picking up after your pet is not okay. Dog feces carry
bacteria, including e-coli, and sometimes parasites that can enter and contaminate our
surface waters. When dog and pet waste is left behind, rain and snow melt washes it into
our streams, lakes, wetlands, and rivers, either via the stormwater conveyance system
(storm drains in the street and stormwater pipes), or by overland flow. City Code 5-3-3. D.
also requires pet owners to remove excrement left on any property, public or private, that is
not owned by the dog owner. In all cases however, whether on your own property or others’,
clean up after your pet as soon as possible in order to protect our surface waters.

RECYCLING
Can pizza boxes be recycled?
Greasy pizza boxes should not be recycled as they will
contaminate the other paper at the mill; instead, compost
pizza boxes either at home or use the organics drop sites
around the County. Learn more and sign up to drop off organics at Thompson Park in
West St. Paul. If you do not compost, place the greasy box bottom in the trash; if the lid is
nice and clean, rip it off and place it in the recycling.
