AIRPORT RELATIONS COMMISSION MINUTES
January 14, 2015
The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Airport Relations Commission was held on Wednesday, January
14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Mendota Heights City Hall.
The following commissioners were present: David Sloan, Gina Norling, Jim Neuharth, Sally Lorberbaum, and
Kevin Byrnes
Absent: William Dunn (excused)
Also present: Interim City Administrator Tamara Schutta and Public Works Director/City Engineer John R.
Mazzitello
Chair Sloan called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Approval of Minutes
Lorberbaum moved, and Neuharth seconded that the minutes of the November 12, 2014 Airport Relations
Commission meetings be approved with the following amendments:
1. Mention of Lorberbaum distributing complaint tracking charts was deleted since Lorberbaum was not
present at the November meeting
2. Mention of invitations for future meeting guest speakers was deleted since it was a holdover comment
from the October meeting.
All voted in favor. Lorberbaum abstained as she was not present at the November meeting.
Unfinished and New Business
The 2015 Commission Annual Work Plan was reviewed and approved with minor amendments. Lorberbaum
moved and Norling seconded. All voted in favor.
Reports on Areas of Focus
Sloan stated he did not have a NOC report. He would have one for the next meeting
Neuharth noted that all measurements were within the normal range and below the upper control limits, but that
there remained resident concerns about departures north of the corridor.
Norling noted that the 80dB events at sensors 13 and 23 were above average.
Lorberbaum stated she would be bringing complaint statistics to the February meeting.
Byrnes recapped the articles that were sent to Commissioners earlier in the week.
Mazzitello provided a tutorial on building height restriction within proximity of the airport and how they apply
to Mendota Heights.
Commissioner Comments
Sloan asked about Lemay Lake shores development noise attenuation requirements for construction.
Lorberbaum asked about the status of Airport Relations Commissioner applications.
Norling asked that an agenda item be added to the February agenda to discuss the spike in number of noise
events from the 12L departures, and suggested discussing formal correspondence with MAC/NOC.

Lorberbaum made a motion to adjourn and Norling seconded at 7:51. All voted in favor.
