Oheyawahe/Pilot Knob is a destination to be visited, and is already a popular area for school field trips, with over 500 students visiting last year. Lessons include topics on Dakota Family Names, Native American Developed Foods, Classifying Animals-The Dakota Way vs. Western Science, The Treaty of 1851, and much more. Start by thinking of which nights you’ll be home to cook dinner. Once you have those nights, you can make a rough meal plan. 2. Incorporate ingredients into multiple days’ worth of meals.  Tacos on Monday—use the leftover ingredients to make chili the next night  Roasted chicken on Wednesday—make chicken quesadillas or chicken soup the next night  Spaghetti and meatballs on Friday—make a frittata or pasta bake the next night (or breakfast!)  Use your leftover ingredients from the week to make a soup or hot dish for a “clear the fridge” meal on the weekends 3. Store produce properly (continued from last week). Tomatoes: Store on the counter, unless very ripe, at which point transfer them to the refrigerator. Onions: Store in a cool, dark place away from potatoes. Onions cause potatoes to sprout faster. Basil: Store on the counter in a glass of water, like flowers. Basil is a warm-weather crop and will turn black in the refrigerator. If you answer such a call, hang up immediately.  You may not be able to tell right away if an incoming call is spoofed. Be aware: Caller ID showing a "local" number does not necessarily mean it is a local caller. Simply avoid calls you don’t know and let the voicemail do its job.  Do not respond to any questions, especially those that can be answered with "Yes." Use caution if you are pressured to provide personal data thru fear, threats or intimidation.  Never give out personal information such as account numbers, Social Security numbers, mother's maiden names, passwords or other identifying information in response to unexpected calls or if you are at all suspicious.  If you get an inquiry from someone who says they represent a company or a government agency, hang up and call the phone number found on the back of your credit card, statement, in the phone book, or on the company's or the actual government agencies website to verify the authenticity of the request. You will usually get a written statement in the mail before you get a phone call from a legitimate source, particularly if the caller is asking for a payment for a warrant, tax issue, or crime, and they will never demand payment thru a debit card.  If you have a voice mail account with your phone service, be sure to set a password for it. Some voicemail services are preset to allow access if you call in from your own phone number. A hacker could spoof your home phone number and gain access to your voice mail if you do not set a password.  Talk to your phone company about call blocking tools they may have and check into apps that you can download to your mobile device to block unwanted calls. To block telemarketing calls, register your number on the Do Not Call List. Legitimate telemarketers consult the list to avoid calling both landline and wireless phone numbers on the list. 2 ANIMAL CALL — 7XX Keokuk Lane 05/23/19, 1900 HOURS Officer responded to a report of a dog bite on the 700 block of Keokuk Lane.
