Properly storing food can reduce waste Tomatoes should not be stored in the refrigerator unless cut. Whole and ripe tomatoes can stay fresh up to three days at room temperature, and if cut or nearing overripe from two to three days in the refrigerator. Optimal Storage: Do not wash them until ready to use. Store fresh tomatoes on the counter away from direct sunlight, with the stem end up. Storing them on their sides will cause bruising. Refrigeration can cause loss of sweetness and texture, but is an option to add a few days of life if nearing overripe; cut tomatoes should be refrigerated. If refrigerating, store in their original container or in a breathable bag in the low-humidity drawer. Allow them to come to room temperature before eating for best flavor. Maybe there were red flags and maybe there weren't. Most advocates would agree abusers are cunning, deceptfve and manipulatfve. They can start out as the most romantfc and thoughtiul partners, gain power and control by earning a survivor's trust and then slowly erode that trust through emotfonal, verbal and/or physical abuse. Many survivors agree that they can see some of those early signs of abuse now, looking back, but couldn’t when the abuser first appeared in their life. Check out the warning signs via the website above. If your gut is telling you some- thing is wrong or scary, talk with someone who is trained and can advise you.
