Subject: City Hall Remodeling Project Payment
Date: May 30, 2018
COMMENT:
INTRODUCTION:
El
The Council is asked to approve payment in the amount of $45,000.15 to Dering Pierson for
work on the City Hall remodeling project.
BACKGROUND:
Dering Pierson is the general contractor for the City Hall project. It has submitted a payment
request in the amount of $45,000.15 as partial payment for the exterior masonry work on the
building. The contractor, subcontract, project architect, and the City have agreed that some
portion of the work will need to redone; the exact amount of that will be determined after a
review by a third party who is knowledgeable about restoration masonry. Any re -do of the work
will be done this fall.
In the meantime, the contractor has requested payment for work that has been satisfactorily
completed to date. That should be approved at this time.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The $45,000.15 is a portion of the approximately $110,000 which is allocated to the exterior
masonry portion of the project. The money is available in the City hall remodeling project
budget.
RECOMMENDTION:
I recommend that the Council authorize payment to Dering Pierson in the amount of $45,000.15.
ACTION REQUIRED:
If the Council concurs, it should, by motion, authorize payment for work done on the City Hall
remodeling project, in the amount of $45,000.15.
