Dodd Road (Hwy 149) Construction Open House
MnDOT will host an informal open house on Wednesday, April 25 from 6 – 8 p.m.
at Cherokee Park United Church, 371 Baker Street, West in St. Paul.
Dodd Road (Hwy 149) construction begins late this spring and will continue through
the end of the year. You are invited to learn about the upcoming construction
planned for Hwy 149 between St. Paul and Mendota Heights.
Construction work includes:
Resurfacing Smith Ave. and Dodd Rd. between West 7th St. and I-494
Resurfacing Annapolis St. (Hwy 13) between Smith Avenue and Cherokee Heights Blvd
Improving drainage, sidewalks and pedestrian accessibility
Replacing traffic signals at five Dodd Road (Hwy 149) intersections
Constructing an additional left-turn lane from westbound I-494 to southbound Dodd Road
The project will extend the lifespan of Hwy 149, provide a smoother road surface,
and improve pedestrian accommodations. Open house attendees will have the op-
portunity to learn about ongoing Smith Ave. High Bridge construction and preliminary
plans for Hwy 149 landscaping that will occur in 2019. Representatives from MnDOT

Student Representative Opening—Parks and Recreation Commission
The Parks and Recreation Commission is accepting applications for a student representative to serve in an
advisory capacity. A student representative must be a Mendota Heights resident attending a high school
located in the city. Interested parties should submit a letter of interest and a current resume to Cheryl Ja-
cobson no later than April 30, 2018, at 4:00 pm.

Mendota Heights Recreation Fee Assistance Policy
The Recreation Fee Assistance Program provides financial assistance to eligible Mendota Heights resi-
dents for participation in recreation programs. Recipients must be under the age of 18 and be on the Free
and Reduced Lunch program in District 197, or have a parent on active duty in the military.
Funding of $150 per child will be awarded per calendar year. Recipients will receive a 50% reduction in cost
for each Mendota Heights recreation program they register for. Eligible programs include ice skating, gym-
nastics, summer playground, tennis camp and golf camp.
To apply, complete the Recreation Fee Assistance Program application. For more information, contact
Meredith Lawrence, Recreation Program Coordinator, at 651-255-1354.
Par 3 Golf Course Seasonal Positions Available
The Mendota Heights Par 3 is seeking fun and energetic individuals for the following positions:
Golf Instructor—Responsible for instructing youth at various levels. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Golf Assistants—Responsible for providing assistance to the golf instructor and supervising participants.
Club House Worker—Responsible for clubhouse operations, opening and closing the clubhouse, receiving
fees, answering phones, taking reservations.

Mendota Heights Police Department welcomes Wayne
Wegener, Jr., previously a Captain with the Lino Lakes Police
Department. His fourteen years in law enforcement includes
experience as a school resource officer, Investigator, DEA
Task Force Officer and Patrol Sergeant. Wayne, his wife and
his three children, ages 8, 6 and 18 months, live in the
northern suburbs. While commuting is not one of his favorite
activities, he does enjoy spending time with his family
outdoors boating, fishing, and snowmobiling. He looks
forward to getting to know and work with staff and residents
alike in our pursuit of excellent public safety and community
service.

BURGLARY — 7XX Hwy 110 04/14/18, 0858 HOURS
Employee from a business in the 700 block of Hwy 110 arrived to work and discovered the business had
been burglarized. The employee walked through the business, discovered the cash bag had been found and
emptied. Owner of the business was notified and arrived. The loss was $210. Photographs were taken. Case
Status: Inactive
BURGLARY — 7XX Hwy 110 04/14/18, 1015 HOURS
Business owner in the 700 block of Hwy 110 arrived at work and discovered his business had been
burglarized. The office was gone through, the electrical box panel was left open, but nothing was missing.
This business is adjacent to 18000254. Case Status: Inactive
PD ACCIDENT — Delaware Ave 04/14/18, 1225 HOURS
Two car accident in the intersection of Dodd Rd and Delaware Ave. Driver of the Chevrolet Traverse was
S/B on Dodd Rd. Driver of the Toyota Highlander was S/B on Delaware Ave. Driver of the Traverse stated
that the driver of the Highlander did not stop at the stop sign. Driver of the Traverse steered left to avoid
collision, Highlander struck the passenger, rear tire of the Traverse. Traffic on Dodd Rd has the right of way.
State accident report completed.
FRAUD — 2XXX Whitfield Drive 04/14/18, 1340 HOURS
I was dispatched to make phone contact with a party who was a victim of fraud by computer. The victim's
computer had fallen to hackers who took control of her computer and demanded money to remove
viruses. Victim provided with identity theft resources, a case number and instructed to cancel all case
numbers.
PD ACCIDENT — 1XXX Delaware Ave 04/16/18, 1507 HOURS
Officer responded to a two vehicle accident at the 1800 block of Delaware Ave. Vehicle backed into second
vehicle in the parking lot. No injuries. Photos taken of damage.
FOUND PROPERTY — 7XX Cheyenne Lane 04/16/18, 1532 HOURS
Officer's were dispatched to the police department lobby on a report of found property. A resident had
located a vehicle license plate on the ground and turned it into the police department. Officer's took
custody of the license plate and attempted to contact the owner.
FRAUD — 7XX Hwy 110 04/16/18, 1601 HOURS
Officer took a fraud report from a business at 700 block of Highway 110. The business owner had money
withdrawn from his accounts.
THEFT — 1XXX Kingsley Circle 04/16/18, 1721 HOURS
Officer took a theft report that had occurred from 1100 block of Kingsley Cir. Eagan PD had found mail
belonging to the caller.
TOBACCO OFFENSE— 1XXX Delaware Ave 04/16/18, 1154 HOURS
Responded to the 1800 block of Delaware Avenue on a report of a juvenile in possession of tobacco. A
citation was issued.

OFP VIOLATOIN— 8XX Stryker Ave 04/17/18, 1738 HOURS
Officers were dispatched to the department lobby on a report of a order for protection violation. Officers
spoke with the victim who stated she was contacted by her ex-boyfriend recently and wanted to report it.
FRAUD — 1XXX Victoria Curve 04/18/18, 1006 HOURS
Responded to the police lobby concerning a fraud report. Reporting party had funds removed from his
financial institute after his computer/account was hacked. Unknown suspects at this time.
PD ACCIDENT — Hwy 110 04/18/18, 1630 HOURS
Responded to a minor two vehicle property damage accident at Delaware/Hwy 110. Report made. No tows.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON — 7XX Mohican Lane 04/19/18, 1845 HOURS
Dispatched to suspicious activity at the 700 block of Mohican Ln. The reporting party stated that a neighbor
offered her child drugs. Gathered information. Report written.
MISSING PERSON — 1XXX Sibley Memorial Hwy 04/19/18, 1858 HOURS
Officer took the report of a missing elderly citizen on the 1100 block of Highway 13. The party left home to
go a short distance away and had not been seen since. His credit card records showed it had been used in
northern Minnesota. An attempt to locate was sent out. Case under investigation.
THEFT — 9XX Sibley Memorial Hwy 04/19/18, 1946 HOURS
Dispatched to a Theft at the 900 block of Sibley Memorial Hwy. The reporting party stated that a male
came in and walked out with a bottle. The reporting party said that he was able to get the bottle back from
the male. Gathered information. Report written.

PD where Dakota County residents can safely and
anonymously dispose of their prescription drugs and
over-the-counter medication.
