Get ready for a different kind of food fight!
Drop Off Your Donations at City Hall through March.
Throw some food (or funds) our way in March as Neighbors
Inc. tries to collect more than the other food shelves across the
state during the annual Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign.
You’ll not only be helping to stock the shelves for the busy sum-
mer months, but you’ll also be helping Neighbors Inc. secure fund-
ing distributed later in the year. So that means a donation now goes even further.
Tennis and Par 3 Seasonal Positions Available
Summer hiring is underway for tennis instructors and the Par 3 Golf Course. To learn
more about these positions, visit www.mendota-heights.com/employment.
Tennis Lessons
Summer Tennis includes Little’s Tennis (4-6 years old), Youth Tennis Lessons (7-12
years old), In-House League (10-18 years old), USTA Youth Tennis League (12-18
years old), and Adult tennis lessons. Get registered today at Mendota-heights.com or
in person at City Hall.
Dog Regulations
Dog licensing
Have you renewed your dog’s license for 2018? Dog licenses run January through Decem-
ber and must be renewed yearly. All dogs over 16 weeks of age are required to be licensed.
The license is available for purchase for $10 (spayed/neutered) or $15 (non spayed/
neutered) at City Hall. Proof of rabies vaccination is required.
Dogs must be on a leash
City ordinances require that dogs must be on a leash when they
are not on private property. This is to protect people and other
animals. The ordinance states that no owner shall permit his dog
to run at large (including city parks and trails) and the owner shall
keep the dog under restraint at all times, meaning the dog shall be
controlled by a leash not exceeding six feet (6') in length.
Off leash dog area
The off-leash dog area is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm daily. There is no fee to use the
park, but the dog must be licensed with the city. The area is located on city property, at the
intersection of Pilot Knob Road and Acacia Boulevard. Enjoy!

Smash-and-grab thieves typically aren’t criminal master-
minds who craft clever schemes to swipe your stuff. Most
are casual opportunists. They see something they like, so
they break in and take it. So before you get out of your car,
make sure your valuables are out of sight. Never leave
these things lying out on your seats, dashboard or floor.
NEVER leave any of the following on display in your car, as they
are all particularly attractive to car thieves:
Cell phones, GPS receivers, laptops and iPods (or any other
type of easy to sell electronics)
Checkbooks, credit cards and debit cards
Cash (including loose change in the ashtray)
Vehicle registration documents (these should always be car-
ried on your person)
Private mail (especially if it has your address on it)
Wallets and purses
Don't make the mistake of thinking that because you live in a low
crime area, you can leave items in your car or leave car doors
unlocked.
Don't leave garage door openers in your parked car. Thieves will
have easy access to your garage and sometimes your entire
home if the door from the garage into your home interior is
unsecured.
