States. In order to help reduce those invasive species in our city, residents
are invited to learn more by attending a free workshop about the invasive

Bring your medical card and know
who to call in case of emergency.
Alert your credit card provider of
travel plans so you can use it
when needed. Know the process
for securing medical aid and help,
including location of the embassy.
Ensure driver and vehicle licenses and insurance are all valid and your
vehicle is travel ready and pack your safety kit.
Keep the valuables at home and bring only
items that you truly need. Expensive jewelry
and electronics are only temptations for
thieves. Keep them locked and out of sight.
Post your fun photos of your
vacation when you return
home. Thieves love to know
you aren’t home! Watch your
Back: Be
wary of the
data you provide in public
places, such as your phone
or room number, credit card
info or if you are alone. Be
aware of who is around you
and may be listening.
TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER: Ensure someone
knows where you are at
all times. Stick with your
friends, don’t go with
strange people or go
anywhere alone. Don’t
over-indulge in alcohol or take narcotics—stay
alert and remain in control of yourself and your
surroundings. Set up “call-in” times with your
kids on spring break.
Your Personal Safety Comes First!
If you are mugged or robbed, give
up the valuables. If you are
assaulted, or if abduction or rape is
attempted, fight back and make as
much noise as possible. Take
self-defense classes — it could save your life.

A lot of emphasis is placed on
fitness, but consider also the
basic concept of self-defense?
Are you both mentally and
physically ready to defend
yourself? Could you fight back
if you are ever attacked? Are
you confident you will shout a
loud, “NO” at your attacker?
CAN YOU:
Be resistant & scream,
make noise & say “NO!
Strike back with hands,
feet, legs, knees or whole
body?
It’s never too late to think
about protecting yourself and
taking care of your body, your
temple.
