Common Code Violations
Below are a few Code requirements you may not know about. Mendota Heights properties are
well maintained, but there are common code violations which can be found across the community.
Please correct these violations if you find them on your property.
Trash containers are required to be screened so they are not visible from public view, unless
the containers are set out for collection. Screening may include fencing, landscaping, or storage in
a garage.
Lawns must be kept less than twelve inches in height. Please be sure to dispose of yard waste
properly – either with your trash hauler or at a local compost site.
Noxious weeds must be controlled or eradicated.
Parking vehicles on lawns is prohibited. All licensed vehicles, recreational vehicles, trailers, etc.
must be parked on a hard surface. Each residential property is allowed to park up to 4 licensed
and operable vehicles on their driveway.
Please help us keep Mendota Heights a beautiful place to live. The city enforces code violations on
a complaint basis but encourages all residents to lead by example.

JULY 14, 2017
It’s summer/road construction season in Minnesota, and boy do we have our
fair share this year! Road construction can be irritating and time consuming, but
it is a very important part of why we have such great roadways in the awesome
state in which we live. Although it gets tiresome to deal with during our busy
fantastic Summer months in which many have somewhere fun to get to, it is
important to slow down, pay attention and be PATIENT. Here is some great info
to keep you and your family safe driving on Minnesota roads this summer!
