Res 2017- 35 Call for Public Hearing Dvlp Dist 1 and TIF Dist 2 and Adoption of TIF PlanCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY STATE OF MINI�TESOTA RESOLUTION 2017-35 RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE PROPOSED MODIFICATION TO THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR MITNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 AND THE PROPOSED ESTABLISFIMENT OF TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT NO. 2 THEREIN AND THE ADOPTION OF THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING PLAN THEREFOR WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights is supportive of a plan to redevelop properties commonly known as the Mendota Motel, and Larson Greenhouse properties; and WHEREAS, in order to provide assistance through Tax Increment Financing, Minnesota Law provides that a number of steps be taken in order to implement such assistance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council (the "Council") for the City of Mendota Heights, Minnesota (the "City"), the following: Section 1. Public Hearin�. This Council shall meet on June 20, 2017, at approximately 7:00 P.M., to hold a public hearing on the proposed modification to the Development Program for Municipal Development District No. 1, the proposed establishment of Tax Increment Financing District No. 2, a redevelopment district, and the proposed adoption of a Tax Increment Financing Plan therefor (the "Program Modification and Plan"), all pursuant to and in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.124 through 469.133 and Sections 469.174 th�ough 469.1794, inclusive, as amended, in an effort to encourage the development and redevelopment of certain designated areas within the City; and Section 2. Notice of Public Hearin�Filin� of the Pro�ram Modification and Plan. City staff is authorized and directed to work with Ehlers & Associates, Inc., to prepare the Program Modiiication and Plan and to forward documents to the appropriate taxing jurisdictions including Dakota County and Independent School District No. 197. The City Administrator is authorized and directed to cause notice of the hearing, together with an appropriate map as required by law, to be published at least once in the official newspaper of the City not later than 10, nor more than 30, days prior to June 6, 2017, and to place a copy of the Program Modification and Plan on file in the City Administrator's office at City Hall and to make such copy a�ailable for inspection by the public.
