The City of Mendota Heights has entered an agreement with Dakota County to reduce our solid waste stream in 1989. As a result of
this agreement, the City will soon be encouraging each resident to play a significant role in reducing the amount of garbage that goes to
the landfill.

The City of Mendota Heights will be asking each resident to participate in a new Curbside Recycling Program. Mendota
Heights has agreed to have a Curbside Recycling Program in operation by April 1, 1989 as;
part of the agreement with Dakota County.
Each resident will be provided with a container to place recyclable materials in for collection by their normal garbage hauler. These
containers will be used to recycle glass, aluminum cans and newsprint.
Waste motor oil can be taken to:
Residents will simply be encouraged to put glass, aluminum cansand newsprint into paper grocery sacks and then place them in the
container provided by the City. The container will then be placed at the curb for collection by the garbage, haulers. This simple procedure
will enable the residents and the City to each do their small part in helping to extend the life
of our landfills and preserve our environment.
