RESOLUTION NO. 3 2 -
RESOLUTION REQUESTING REDUCTION OF SPEED
LIMIT ON SOUTH VICTORIA ROAD
WHEREAS, the existing speed limit on South Victoria
Road between Highway No. 13 and State Trunk Highway No. 110
is presently posted as 40 m.p.h., and
WHEREAS, because of road construction taking place
in the immediate vicinity of South Victoria Road between Highway
No. 13 and State Trunk Highway No. 110, said street has become
extremely hazardous to traffic thereon, and
WHEREAS, a speed limit of 40 m.p.h. on said road
is greater than is reasonable and safe under existing conditions.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Village
Council of the Village of.Mendota Heights as follows:
1. The Minnesota Commissioner of Highways and/or
the Dakota County Board are hereby requested to provide
for a reduction in the speed limit from 40 m.p.h. to
30 m.p.h. on South Victoria Road from Highway No. 13
to State Trunk Highway No. 110 and are.hereby further
requested to erect appropriate signs designating such
reduced speed as the posted speed for such road.
2. The Minnesota Commissioner of Highways and/or
the Dakota County Board are hereby further requested to
place said portion of South Victoria Road on their top
priority maintenance schedule so that the same will be
properly and safely maintained,during the progress of
the road construction work occurring in the immediate
vicinity.
3. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to forward copies of this Ordinance to the
Minnesota Commissioner of Highways and to the proper
representatives of the Dakota County Board.
Adopted by the Village Council this 5th day of July,
1966.
