RESOLUTION NO. 333
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS,
A WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND SANITARY AND
STORM SEWER SYSTEMS TO SERVE THE WILLOW SPRINGS
AND BRECKENRIDGE ESTATES SUBDIVISIONS AND ADJA-
CENT AREAS (IMPROVEMENT 70, PROJECT 3), AND
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF AN EXTENSION TO THE
VILLAGE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM ALONG_WENTWORTH
AVENUE FROM WACHTLER AVENUE TO DODD ROAD AND
ALONG DODD ROAD FROM WENTWORTH AVENUE TO BACHELOR
AVENUE (IMPROVEMENT 70, PROJECT 3) AND TO SERVE
CERTAIN PROPERTIES ALONG DODD ROAD, FOURTH
AVENUE AND CLEMENT STREET (IMPROVEMENT 70,
PROJECT 3).
WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has submitted his report to the Village
Council with respect to the proposed construction of:
A. The construction of an extension to the Village sanitary
sewer system, including appurtenances and incidentals
thereto, and the acquisition of easements, and the re-
construction where necessary of streets in the area herein-
after more particularly described.
The construction of a storm sewer system including appur-
tenances and incidentals thereto and the acquisition of
easements, in and for the area hereinafter more particularly
described.
The construction of an extension to the,Village water
distribution system including appurtenances and incidentals
thereto, and the acquisition of easements, and the recon-
struction where necessary of streets in the area hereinafter
more particularly described.
The construction of street improvements consisting of the
grading, stabilization, drainage and bituminous surfacing,
and the construction of concrete curbs and gutters on the
streets to be situated in the area hereafter more particu-
larly described.
The area covered by said improvements is more particularly
described as follows:
The following described area situated in the Village
of Mendota Heights in Dakota County, Minnesota, to -wit:
All properties abutting Wachtler Avenue, Wentworth
Avenue and Dodd Road in the South-east one-fourth
of the Northeast one-fourth (SW 1/4 of NE 1/4) and
the North 330 feet of the East 330 feet of the
Southeast one-fourth (SE 1/4) in Section 23, the
South -one-half of the Northwest one-fourth (S 1/2
of NW 1/4) and the North one-half of the Southwest
one-fourth (N 1/2 of SW 1/4) in Section 24.
B. An extension to the Village sanitary sewer system, including
appurtenances and incidentals thereto, and the acquisition
of easements, and the reconstruction where necessary of
streets in the area following described situated within the
Village of Mendota Heights, and is more particularly described
as follows:
All properties abutting Wachtler Avenue, Wentworth
Avenue and Dodd Road in the Southeast one-fourth
of the Northeast one-fourth (SE 1/4 of NE 1/4) and
the North 330 feet of the East 330 feet of the
Southeast one-fourth (SE 1/4) in Section 23 and
the South one-half of the Northwest one-fourth
(S 1/2 of NW 1/4) and the North one-half of the
Southwest one-fourth (N 1/2 of SW 1/4) in Section
24;
All of the above Sections and Subdivisions lying
in Township 28 North (T28N), Range 23 West (R23W)
in Dakota County.
C. An extension to the Village sanitary sewer system including
appurtenances and incidentals thereto and the acquisition of
easements and the reconstruction where necessary of streets
in the following described area situated in the Village of
Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota, to -wit:
All properties abutting on Dodd Road (State Trunk
Highway No. 49) from Third Avenue to Wentworth
Avenue on Fourth Avenue from Dodd Road to Clement
Street and on Clement Street from Fourth Avenue to
approximately 400 feet northward therefrom.
WHEREAS, all of the foregoing improvements have heretofore been
designated as Improvement No. 70, Project No. 3, and
WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that it would be in
the best interests of the Village to combine said improvements for
the purpose of constructing the same, and
WHEREAS, the Village Council has heretofore determined that it is
advisable, feasible, expedient and necessary that the Village of
Mendota Heights construct said improvements and has heretofore ordered
that said improvements be made and has further directed that the
Village Engineer proceed with the preparation of plans and specifica-
tions therefor, and
WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has prepared plans and specifications
for said improvements and has presented such plans and specifications
to the Village Council for approval, and
WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has recommended that said improvements
be combined as one proceeding and that advertisement for bids for said
improvements be received on said improvements as so combined.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Village Council of the
Village of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, as follows:
1) That the plans and specifications for the construction of
said improvements be and are hereby in all respects approved.
2) That said improvements be and the same shall hereafter
be combined as one improvement project which shall be known
and designated as Improvement No. 70, Project No. 3.
3) That the Village Clerk with the aid and assistance of
the Village Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed
to advertise for bids for said improvements,<all in accordance
with the applicable Minnesota Statutes, such bids to be received
at the Village Hall of the Village of Mendota Heights by 2:00
o'clock P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 1970, at which time they will
be publicly opened in the Village Council Chambers of the Village
Hall by at least one of the members of the Village Council and
the Village Engineer, will then be tabulated, and will then be
considered by the Village Council at its next regular meeting.
Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Mendota Heights this
21st day of April, 1970.
