RESOLUTION NO. 363
RESOLUTION REQUESTING REDUCTION IN SPEED
ALONG LEXINGTON AVENUE BETWEEN WAGON WHEEL
TRAIL AND HIGHWAY 110
WHEREAS, the construction of the new plant of Gould, Inc. at the
southwest corner of Highway No. 110 and Lexington Avenue in the
Village of Mendota Heights has generated a substantial increase
in traffic along Lexington Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the Village Council is of the opinion that the forty
mile per hour existing speed limit along Lexington Avenue
between Wagon Wheel Trail and State Trunk Highway No. 110
should be reduced to a speed limit which would be safe under
the conditions which now exist along that portion of Lexington
Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the Village Council is of the opinion that a speed limit
of thirty miles per hour for said portion of Lexington Avenue
would be safe and reasonable under existing conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the Village Council of
the Village of Mendota Heights, Minnesota as follows:
1) That Dakota County be and is hereby requested to
reduce the speed limit along Lexington Avenue between
Wagon Wheel Trail and State Trunk Highway No. 110
from a speed limit of 40 miles per hour to a speed
limit of 30 miles per hour.
