Res 70 - 368 Providing for the Establishment of a Municipal Court Within the Village of MHVillage of Mendota Heights Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 368 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISH- MENT OF A MUNICIPAL COURT WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Mendota Heights has determined that it would be in the best interests of the Village to establish a municipal court within the Village of Mendota Heights. NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Mendota Heights, Minnesota as follows: 1) There is hereby established a municipal court within the Village of Mendota Heights. 2) The sessions of said municipal court shall be held in suitable space in the Village Hall of the Village of Mendota Heights. 3) There shall be two judges for said municipal court one judge to be designated the Municipal Judge and the other judge to be designated as the Special Municipal Judge. The Special Municipal Judge shall act only in the absence, dis- ability, or disqualification of the Municipal Judge. 4) The Municipal Judge and Special Municipal Judge shall meet the qualifications provided in Minnesota Statutes Chapter 488 and shall be elected or appointed in accordance with the pro- visions of Minnesota Statutes Chapter 488. 5) The Municipal Judge shall appoint a clerk of the municipal court who shall perform all of the functions of the clerk of municipal court more particularly specified in Chapter 488 of the Minnesota Statutes. The Village Council shall determine the compensation to be paid to the clerk of the municipal court. 6) The court officer of the municipal court shall be the Village Police Chief or such policeman as the Village police chief shall assign to perform the duties of such court officer. 7) The salary of the Municipal Judge shall be $600 per annum. The salary of the Special Municipal Judge shall be $25 per day for each day for which he renders services as said Special Municipal Judge. 8) There shall be appropriated from the general funds of .J the Village such funds as may be necessary to pay for the operations of the municipal court.
