Res 71 - 449 Appointment of Orvil J. Johnson as Village AdministratorVillage of Mendota Heights Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 449 WHEREAS, THE Village of Mendota Heights desires to fill the position of Village Administrator as previously established by resolution; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Village Council to establish certain conditions of employment for said Administrator and to provide certain benefits; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Orvil J. Johnson is hereby appointed as Village Administrator and hereinafter called "Administrator," and; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following terms and conditions are hereby established: a. Term of Employment. Said appointment shall be effective January 1, 1972 and shall be for an indefinite period of time. Nothing shall prevent, limit, or otherwise interfere with the right of the Village Council to terminate the services of Administrator at any time; and nothing shall prevent, limit, or otherwise interfere with the right of Administrator to resign at any time. b. Termination and Severance Pay. In the event the appointment is terminated unilaterally by the Village Council, the Village agrees to pay a lump sum cash payment equal to two months aggregate salary. In the event Administrator voluntarily resigns his position with the Village, he shall give the Village two months advance notice. C. Salary. The Village agrees to pay Administrator for his services pursuant to this resolution an annual base salary of $21,000, payable in installments at the same time as other employees of the Village. Said base salary and/or other benefits paid to Administrator shall be reconsidered on an annual basis at the same time as similar consideration is given to other employees generally. d. Automobile. The Village will provide car allowance of $100 per month, payable monthly, for the exclusive and unrestricted use of an automobile furnished by Administrator. Such automobile shall be used for all transportation required and expected in conducting Village affairs and no other in-state travel allowance shall be granted. e. Professional Development. The Village hereby agrees to budget and to pay out-of-state travel and the subsistence expenses of Administrator for attendance at meetings and occasions designed to continue professional development including but not limited to the annual conference of the International City Management Association, State League of Municipalities, and such other groups and committees deemed of mutual benefit to both the Village and Administrator. The Village also agrees to budget and to pay the professional dues and subscriptions necessary for continuation and full participation in national, regional, state and local associations deemed mutually beneficial to the Village and Administrator. f. Fringe Benefits. The Village agrees to provide vacation, sick leave, hospitalization and medical insurance, and other fringe benefits in the same measure as are provided to other Village employees.
