RESOLUTION N0.465
RESOLUTION REQUESTING mINIVESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTmENT PARTIC—
IPATION IN LAKE LEUEL CONTROL FACILITIES
WHEREAS, The Uillage of inendota Heights has been requested
to lower the level of Rogers Lake, and
WHEREAS, such control facilities and underground piping have
been sutdied in a preliminary way, and
WHEREAS, such preliminary plans and cost estimates indicate
a cost of approximately $143,000.00, and
WHEREAS, proposed I 35E andTH #110 Rights—Of—Way passes
through the natural drainage area, and
WHEREAS, grading and construction of the proposed highway
facilities will drastically increase both the instantaneous
and total runoff from the Rights—Of—Way, and
WHEREAS, The minnesota Highway Department does accept Tespons—
ibility for surface water disposal in proportion to other con—
tributing elements,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLUED that the Uillage Council hereby
requests that the minnesota Highway Department personnel col—
laborate their studies of I 35E and TH #110 runoff with current
village studies, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLUED THAT Uillage and mHD personnel work
toward a mutually satisfactory runoff ratio (mHD:Total)
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLUED THAT THE mHD be requested to partici—
pate in this level control and drainage project by contributing
funds equal to the ultimate project cost times the ratio of mHD
runoff .
