Res 74 - 19 Commending Repsonse to WSP Fire�� � � � CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION N0. 74-19 RESOLUTION COMMENDING RESPONSE TO WEST ST. PAUL FIRE WI-�REAS, during the early morning of Friday, January 11, a catastrophic fire occurred at the Bellows Court Apartment complex in the City of West St. Paul; and WHEREAS, the West St. Paul dispatcher placed an immediate call for assistance; and WfiEREAS, Mendota Heights police squad cars arrived at the scene prior to the explosion, both officers administered aid, provided emergency ambulance service, and gave every possible assistance until the situation was controlled; and WHEREAS, twenty-seven members of the Mendota Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to the emergency call within minutes of the call and assisted at the scene until the fire was declared controlled; and WI�REAS, six members of the Mendota Heights Volunteer Civil Defense Police Auxiliary responded to a request for assistance in directing and controlling traffic on January 14 and January 15, expending a total of twenty-two hours of voluntary tiime at the scene; and WHEREAS, all those who responded acted in a most efficient, admirable manner and without regard for their own personal safety or discomfort; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that those members of the police department, fire department and police auxiliary are to be highly commended for their efficient and selfless concern for the safety of lives and property of others; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council wishes to express its sincere appreciation and pride in each of the three departments; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be distributed to all of the department members who responded.
