WHEREAS, such area and boundaries as established in Mendota Heights . � are shown on the attached drawings; and . '• , WHEREAS, such protection concept has resulted in the formation, by State • agenciss, of interim rules and regulations and other restrictions on development in such area; and Wt�REAS, the legislation directs that local governments within the°area • � be responsible for the enforcement�of the'interim rules and regulations; and ' WHEREAS, the local goverrunents are also responsible'�for the development_ � of their own special development plans, within the�cri�ical.area; and WE�REAS, as of this date, Mendota Heig�ts does not'ha�fe such plans, including ariy fee.schedule for the Lappropriate handling of �he development � " - plans; and � . : � , WHEREAS, staff and consultant work is necessary irrespective of the , status of the Mendota Heights planning. � • � ,. ' NOW, THEREFORE IT I5 HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City • . of Mendota Heights that the Planning Consultant be directed to continue � with the planning for the critical area development as per the State mandate; � and . � _ � - , BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the fee for any building permit within � • the critical area be increased by $150 to help defray,the costs of processing , such permits.
