Res 1981 - 08 Approving Plans & Specifications & Ordering Advertisement for Bids for Construction of Conversion of Friendly Hills Water SystemCity of Mendota Heights Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO, 8108 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVER- TISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CONVERSION OF FRIENDLY HILLS WATER SYSTEM (IMPROVEMENT NO. 78, PROJECT NO. 4), WHEREAS, the City Director of Public Works has submitted his report to the City Council with respect to the proposed construction of the following described improvements, to -wit: The acquisition and conversion of the privately owned and operated "Mendota Water Company" water distribution system to the City's municipal water system including new connections, corrections and adjustments to such existing water system facilities, the acquisition of easements, the modification in existing buildings to allow for increased water pressures and new water meters, and the dismantling and removing of the existing water tower, well and appurtenances. WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore directed that the City Director of Public Works proceed with the preparation of plans and specifications therefor, and WHEREAS, the City Director of Public Works has prepared plans and specifications for said improvements and has presented such plans and specifications to the City Council for approval. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, as follows: 1) That the plans and specifications for said improve- ments be and they are hereby in all respects approved. 2) That the City Clerk, with the aid and assistance of the City Director of Public Works, be and is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for said improvements all in accordance with the applicable Minnesota Statutes, such bids to be received at the City Hall of the City of Mendota Heights by 10:00 o'clock A.M., Tuesday, February 17, 1981, at which time they will be publicly opened in the City Council Chambers of the City Hall by at least one of the members of the City Council and the City Director of Public Works, will then be tabulated, and will then be considered by the City Council at its next regular Council meeting. 3) That the above-described improvements shall be known and designated as Improvement No. 78, Project No. 4.
