Res 1980 - 87 Establishing Cable Television Franchise FundCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 80-87 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE FUND WHEREAS, on January 8, 1980, the Mendota Heights City Council established a Cable Advisory Commission and charged it to study the community interest and feasibility of cable television service to Mendota Heights residents; and WHEREAS, the Commission, in actively pursuing its charge, has recommended that the Council approve certain expenditures for the purpose of surveying community reaction to cable television; and WHEREAS, any costs incurred by the City in the study of cable television needs, including inclusion in a Cable Service Territory, preparation of a needs assessment, and other activities related to franchising, are eligible for reimbursement after the granting of a franchise; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights, that a Cable Television Franchise Fund be and is hereby established; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a complete record of authorized expenditures made from said fund be maintained and such record be established as the basis for expense reimbursement by the franchising firm should a franchise ultimately be granted.
