RESOLUTION NO. 81-31
RESOLUTION REQUESTING 1980-81 LOCAL PLANNING ASSISTANCE
DISCRETIONARY GRANT FUNDS FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Land Planning Act, Minnesota StatItes,
Section 473.852-473.872 required that Mendota Heights prepare and submit
a comprehensive plan to the Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council and Mendota Heights have entered into
a contract numbered 78109, dated May 30, 1978, which was subsequently amended
on February 15, 1979; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has allocated $5,564.00 to Mendota
Heights in additional grant funds for 1980-81; and
WHEREAS, Mendota Heights has completed the planning program,
required of
` it by the Metropolitan Land Planning Act;.and.

WHEREAS, the actual total cost of the required planning activities was
as documented by the final progress report attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has established a discretionary fund
from which to make awards to local units demonstrating a need for additional
funds, and having a lack of financial resources; and E
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights believes that it is qualified to
receive discretionary funds, as demonstrated on the attached application
form; and
WHEREAS, the total grants from the Metropolitan Council of $12,790.00,
will not exceed 75% of the total actual cost of carrying out therequired
planning; and
WHEREAS, grant funds from other sources, plus Metropolitan Council grants,
will not exceed 100% of the actual planning cost;
a
NOW THERREFORE, the City of Mendota Heights requests $12,000.00 in 1980-81
discretionary grant funds and authorizes Mayor Lockwood to execute the
Agreement Amendment to the above -referenced contract on behnalf of the City of
Mendota Heights.
