RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ENGINEERING ENTERPRISE FUND

WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights City Council has determined that a transition
from private consulting engineering service to in-house engineering service is
in the best interest of the City at this time; and
WHEREAS, substantial City -accounting and personnel changes will be realized
as the result of said transition; and

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the engineering function will be self-supporting
and by its nature requires separate accounting in a form different from the General
Fund; 1
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that an Engineering Enterprise Fund is hereby
established and that all revenues and expenditures accruing to the City through
engineering services be accounted for in said Engineering Enterprise Fund; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in order to fund the•"start-up" costs of this
enterprise, a temporary transfer of $40,000 be made from Unappropriated General
Funds to the Engineering Enterprise Fund; such $40,000 to be returned to the
General Fund as the Fund becomes self-sustaining.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that annual transfers between the General Fund and
Engineering Enterprise Fund be made in accordance with budget documents adopted and
approved 'annually by the City Council.
