DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION NO. 84- 43
RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE HENRY SIBLEY
HIGH SCHOOL BAND FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE
WHEREAS, the Henry Sibley High School Marching Band just completed a
tour of several Eastern and Mid -Western states; and
WHEREAS, the band had the opportunity to play in several competitive
parade events; and
WHEREAS, the band was awarded numerous honors during that tour, in-
cluding:
1st Place in the Liberty Bell Parade, held July 3rd in
Philadelphia.
1st Place in the National Independence Day Festival, held
July 4th in Washington, D.C.
1st Place and Judges Trophy for most outstanding unit in the
Howard County, Maryland 4th of July Parade.
1st Place in the Bel Air, Maryland 4th of July Parade.
1st Place in the Dundalk, Maryland Heritage Parade; and
WHEREAS, this list-- of impressive accomplishments, along with other
.appearances by the band has brought honor and distinction to Mendota Heights
and the other communities in School District #197:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Mendota Heights, that on behalf of the citizens of their community,
appropriate congratulations and thanks are hereby extended to Director
Jeff Carver and all of the members of the Henry Sibley High School Marching
Band.
Adopted by the City Council this Seventeenth day of July, 1984.
