RESOLUTION NO. 82-60
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING VACATION OF CERTAIN"
STREETS IN THE PLATS OF GARDENVILLE
REARRANGEMENT AND SOUTH LANES
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Airports Commission ("MAC") is the current
record owner of all of the property included within the plats of
Gardenville Rearrangement and South Lanes, Dakota County, Minnesota;
and
WHEREAS, a petition has been duly presented to the City Council of
the City of Mendota Heights by MAC for the vacation of the following
described streets, roads and other public thoroughfares:
(i) The South half of Knob Lane, and LeMay Avenue,
both extending from the Easterly right-of-way of Icthe
Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad
right-of-way to the center line of Pilot Knob Roap; and
Sibley Lane, Acacia Lane, and Matilda Street, all
extending Southerly from the center line of Knob ;Lane
to the point of their termination, all located in the
plat of Gardenville Rearrangement, and
(ii) The South half of LeMay Avenue, and Dean Avenue,
both extending Westerly from the Westerly right-of-way
of State Highways Nos. 13 and 55 to the center line of
Pilot Knob Road, both located in the plat of South
Lanes; and
WHEREAS, a notice of hearing on said petition has been duly published
and posted more than two weeks before the date scheduled for the
hearing on said petition, all in accordance with the applicable
Minnesota Statutes; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on said petition on
April 6, 1982 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. at the City Hall of
Mendota Heights; and
Tuesday,
the City of
WHEREAS, the City Council then proceeded to hear all persons
interested in said petition and all persons were afforded an
opportunity to present their views and objections to the granting
of said petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the vacation of the streets more particularly
described above situated in the City of Mendota Heights is in the
best interests of the public and the City and is not detrimental
to the health, safety and welfare of the community.
2. That the following described streets situated in the City
of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, to -wit:
(i) The South half of Knob Lane, and LeMay Avenue,
both extending from the Easterly right-of-way of the
Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad
right-of-way to the center line of Pilot Knob Road; and
Sibley Lane, Acacia Lane, and Matilda Street, all
extending Southerly from the center line of Knob Lane
to the point of their termination, all located in the
plat of Gardenville Rearrangement, and
(ii) The South half of LeMay Avenue, and Dean Avenue,
both extending Westerly from the Westerly right-of-way
of State Highways Nos. 13 and 55 to the center line of
Pilot Knob Road, both located in the plat of South Lanes;
be and the same are hereby vacated.
3. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and
directed to prepare and present to the proper Dakota County officials
a notice of completion of these vacation proceedings all in
accordance with the applicable Minnesota Statutes.
