RESOLUTION REQUESTING ACQUISITION OF THE 9 TO 18
INCH MENDOTA HEIGHTS TRUNK SEWER BY THE METROPOLITAN
WASTE CONTROL COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Mendota Heights find
that the City of Mendota proposes to construct a sanitary sewer collection
system to serve at least 90 percent of the City of Mendota; and I
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota has requested the Metropolitan Council to
approve the•construction of a lift station, forcemain and gravity 4runk
interceptor sewer to connect its proposed sanitary sewer collection system with
an existing 9 inch trunk sewer located in the City of Mendota Heights; and
WHEREAS, the 9 to 18 inch trunk sewer that is owned by the City of Mendota
Heights contains approximately 0.45 million gallons per day of capacity in
excess of the complete development needs of the City of Mendota Heights, based on
the City's approved Comprehensive Sewer Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota can economically utilize a portion of the excess
capacity in the 9 to 18 inch Mendota Heights trunk sewer as determined by their
engineering consultants as per the report entitled, Feasibility Study for Sanitary
Sewer for the City of Mendota, August 1978.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Mendota
Heights that based on the above facts, the City of Mendota Heights'requests
that the Metropolitan Council approve the request and recommend to.the Metro-
politan Waste Control Commission that it acquire the 9 to 18 inch Mendota Heights
trunk sewer at such time as the sanitary sewer collection system in the City of
Mendota is constructed.

September, 1982.
