RESOLUTION NO. 83- 64
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FIREMEN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION BENEFIT PLAN
WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights Volunteer Fire Department and its associated
Firemen's Relief Association have undergone discussions with the Mendota Heights
Cty Council concerning insurance and pension benefits; and
WHEREAS, the Firemen's Relief Association members have approved a Defined
Benefit Pension plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights, during recent years, has contributed
approximately $11,200 annually into the pension plan and approximately $2,000
annually for a $10,000 double indemnity group term life insurance policy; and
WHEREAS, it is now proper for the City to commit to supporting the new
Defined Benefit plan.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council this second day of August,1983,
that the City of Mendota Heights will:
a. Levy a tax and contribute $350 per active fireman, per year, to the
Defined Benefit Pension plan.
b. Purchase a $10,000 double indemnity group term insurance policy for
each active fireman.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing two benefits shall be construed as
the replacement of benefits previously granted.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 2nd day of August,
1983.
