RESOLUTION NO. 91 - 09
RESOLUTION APPROVING A MINOR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, St. Paul's Turners Gymnastics has proposed a private
athletic facility on a site in a B-1A Zoning District, said site
being at the northeast corner of Mendota Heights Road and Lexington
Avenue according to site plans and legal description on file in
Planning Case No. 91-01; and
WHEREAS, The Comprehensive Plan of the City of Mendota Heights
has guided this land as HR (High Density Residential); and
WHEREAS, The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Mendota Heights
has zoned this land B-1A (Business Park District); and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission of the City of Mendota
Heights has conducted the required public hearings at their January
22, 1991 and February 26, 1991 meetings and unanimously recommended
that the City Council approve a requested Minor Comprehensive Plan
Amendment and Rezoning for the above said site to allow
construction of a limited business use, said business use a private
athletic facility as proposed in Planning Case No. 91-01; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Mendota Heights
conducted the required public hearing at their March 5, 1991
meeting to consider the Minor Comprehensive Plan Amendment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Mendota Heights finds the private athletic facility to be
an appropriate land use and the building plans to be consistent
with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Mendota Heights.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mendota Heights that a Minor Comprehensive Plan Amendment, subject
to Metropolitan Council concurrence, be approved changing the
guidance designation of the above said site from HR (High Density
Residential) to B (Business).
Adopted by the City�Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 5th
day of March, 1991.
