RESOLUTION NO. 91- 12

to a new location or continue to expand at the present site is not

sites for a possible new major airport, and
WHEREAS, two of the sites are predominately located in
southern Dakota County, and a third site is located predominately
in Isanti County, and
WHEREA3, the City of Mendota Heights has actively participated
in the airport planning process and has a substantial interest in

for airport relocation verses airport expansion until later in the
dual track analysis process, and
WHEREAS, the City has previously formally commented regarding
the specifics of the airport expansion concept with the May 1, 1990

alternative as the preferred new major airport search area, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Mendota Heights
specifically opposes any northern search area and deems it
inappropriate for a new major airport due to its distance from the
Metropolitan downtowns and existing airport related development.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 2nd
day of April, 1991.
