A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 1991 - 1993 ALTERNATIVE DEER CONTROL
PROGRAM A3 RECOMMENDED BY THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES AND ADOPTING SPECIFIC PROGRAM REGULATIONS FOR DEER
CONTROL ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CITY
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has
requested that the City consider adoption of the 1991 - 1993
Alternative Deer Control Program for the Minnesota River Valley
area, and �
WHEREAS, the program was developed by the DNR in cooperation
with the Minnesota Valley Deer Management Task Force, and
WHEREAS, City resident Kathleen Ridder represented the City
of Mendota Heights as a member of the task force.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RE30LVED, that the City Council of the
City of Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota, hereby
approves the Department of Natural Resources recommended 1991 -
1993 Alternative Deer Control Program subject to the following
conditions:
1. Provisions of City Ordinance No. 914
Regarding Hunting within the City of Mendota
Heights are hereby waived for persons
recognized by the DNR as program permitees
during the period November 30, 1991 to
December 15, 1991.
2. Permitees under 18 years of age must be
accompanied while hunting by an adult who has
been selected as a permitee in the special
hunt.
3. After the first year of the special hunt, the
DNR will give priority for permit issuance to
the previous year's special hunt permitees
due to their familiarity with the hunting
area and special safety provisions.
4. The Chief of Police may revoke any permitees
authorization to participate in the special
hunt upon certification by a City, State, or
Federal Law Enforcement Officer that the
permitee has been charged with a violation of
the special hunt regulations when, in the
judgment of the Chief, further discharge of
firearms would result in danger to the
public.
5. The DNR agrees to distribute to all program
participants a copy of this Resolution, and
will have each program participant sign a
statement indicating that they have read and
understood all rules, regulations, and
conditions which govern the conduct of the
' special hunt.
6. All operational details and costs of the
program are the responsibility of the DNR as
set forth in their proposal dated June 12,
1991.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this
6th day of August 1991.
