RESOLIITION NO. 92-32
A RESOLIITION EXTENDING THE DONATION COLLECTION PERIOD FOR THE
MENDOTA HEIGHTS AIR NOIS}3 LITIGATION ESCROW FUND
WHEREAS, on November 19, 1991 the Mendota Heights City Council
adopted Resolution No. 91-82 - A Resolution Establishing the
Mendota Heights Air Noise Litigation Escrow fund, and
WSEREAS, as a term of that Resolution, the City represented
that fund raising for ANLEF would extend through June 1, 1992 at
which time donations would be returned if a sum of at least $25,000
had not yet been raised, and
YIHEREAS, fund raising efforts were delayed this spring due to
unforeseeable circumstances and the need to immediately address
other pressing community issues, and
WIiERFsAS, on May 5, 1992 the City identified the air craft
noise issue as the City's top priority issue for the coming year,
and
DOHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the City to
extend the ANLEF donation period in order to allow ample time to
publicize the Fund's existence and purpose.
NO� THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolution No. 91-82 is
hereby amended to allow the ANLEF fund raising period to extend to
July 31, 1992 instead of June 1, 1992, and
BE IT FIIRTIiER RESOLVED, that with respect to the extension of
this donation deadline, the necessity to publish two weeks in
advance a formal legal notice in the City's official newspaper is
hereby waived.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 2nd
day of June, 1992.
